Some don't understand, if what's rumored is true, you fire him no matter who the next HC could be.

My arguments and thoughts on Petrino have zero to do with this weeks rumor. I think you fire Petrino at the end of the year regardless if the rumor is true and regardless if you can get Jeff Brohm. I would rather start fresh with a new group of coaches than risk the continued downfall of the program because I don't see a sudden change for the better about to happen within the program. Is Van Gorder suddenly going to turn into a good DC? After 5 years are the kids going to suddenly start taking care of the ball and looking prepared? Is someone on staff suddenly going to turn into an ace recruiter and actually stay on staff? I mean maybe.....but its unlikely. The logical answer would seem to indicate that we'll get more of what we've gotten over the last 5 years and thats without a generational talent like Lamar Jackson coming to cover all the programs warts.

I would rather fail trying to be great than succeed at being mediocre and nothing about Petrino 2.0 and this staff would even remotely lead one to believe that they are suddenly going to raise the status of the program.
