I had the same feelings after the game as I did following my other favorite team the Minnesota Vikings this year. Their seasons were remarkably similar. Neither had high preseason expectations. They both lost critical players to early season ending injuries. They both put on huge winning streaks that defied all expectations. Both played for conference/division championships and finished second. Both were significantly under seeded in the post season. And unfortunately, both laid an egg in the first round of the playoffs/tourney.
I felt genuine joy following both teams this year and I just didn't want the joy to end. However, both are well positioned for great seasons next year so I am quite certain that joy will be back again next year.
