a state rep from Lex that tried to tack on a NBA provision in the budget balancing of the KFC Yum! Center. She tried to mandate that the NBA is pursued, that provision was struck from the bill because it had zero to do with the budget. That is how obsessed that area is with providing any obstacles or problems for our program.

Not surprised. I am happy the law makers were paying attention and killed it from the bill. If Calipari is so hell bent on having another NBA team in Kentucky *counting his 1 and done factory, then let them move to Lexington. I would be fine with that.

It is incredible how far the sUcK faithful will go to try and hurt our program they must be really scared of our success.

Or we just want an NBA team to root for. If Lexington had the population to support a team i would be happy. Regardless I live over two hours from both cities.

When a state legislator is trying too force an NBA team on us there is more to it than just entertainment. However, I am glad you are acknowledging that Louisville is the engine that drives the state and everywhere else in the state is feeding off of us.

I'm happy to acknowledge that Louisville is the biggest city in the state by a large margin so obviously it drives the state in some sense. Is it now Louisville/Jefferson county vs the rest of the state? I must have missed that part of my history of Kentucky class

I call BS on "we just want a NBA team to root for", please with your phony rhetoric. It's never happening anyway, the Pacers ownership would kill it anyway! They're the Cards greatest ally in this old broken record topic. Plus bbn already has the Suns and Pelicans! Enjoy!

Where have you been? It's always been that way.
Louisville is just as much in Kentucky as I am and I live on the Tennessee line.

I do root for our players to do well but I would not say I root for any particular team. Like I said I feel like Seattle would get he look before Louisville

In what regard? I've never felt "against" the city of Louisville in anything. Hell im only against the university one game a year
You don't live in Louisville so you don't understand. I've been in every little hole in the wall town for work. They ask where you're from and you say Louisville. At that point you're treated different. Kentucky is about as backwards as it comes.

I never tell anyone I'm from Kentucky. All I say is Louisville and they figure it out.

I'll take your word for it

It's not a point in time, it's a trend...

I used to denigrate the population of Kentucky outside Jefferson County, but not anymore. There are significant numbers of Louisville fans in Kentucky nowadays. And I want those people in our fanbase.

Of course, the blue hacks will always be there working against the State's largest concentration of citizens, resources, and wealth. But that's an increasingly difficult battle, and one that the hacks lose way more than they used to. That's the trend...

Do you have an example of the state conspiring against Louisville or is this just another baseless claim? Coming from someone truly ignorant on the subject because like I said I love the city of Louisville just like I do anywhere in this state.

I would still like to know where you read about the state rep from Lexington doing that? If you get time please.

To the cayut fans that populate this board AND thread. If it weren't for Jefferson County/Louisville, the rest of the state would go broke. We virtually pay for everything that happens in the Commonwealth and get back a very marginal amount for our "membership" in the Commonwealth.

Cal4, it was an article on twitter discussing the Yum! budget legislation proposals. The rep was a female from Lex. Currently at work, don't have time to research at the moment. I'm not going to just pull it out of my hat and make that up.

Are you serious? There is a war against Louisville right now. There is pending, albeit recently amended legislation that would empower the governor to appoint Louisville Metro council members and mayor should a vacancy occur. That should be determined on the local level. There is pending legislation that would reduce term limits for the Louisville mayor. Again, that should be determined on the local level. Frankfort is going in dry on JCPS with the audit and now redistricting legislation. There was the state abolishing and reestablishing UofL's BOT. There's always been a distinct divide between Louisville and the rest of the state. The state, this time, led by the GOP, is really taking strong initiative against all things Louisville.

Without NYC New York would go broke. Without Boston Massachusetts would go broke. Louisville is the states largest city of course it drives the rest of the state. Why do you act like it's any different anywhere else?

In other areas the state legislature gives the area that generates the cash their fair share, not here.

Because everywhere else their state legislatures give a fair share to the income producers. That isn't the situation here in Kentucky. And, if you ever pay any attention, you'd know that. The other larger areas in KY do not pay the same percentage as does Louisville. Lexington, for example, gets to keep damn near 100% of the money it generates whereas Louisville gets approximately only .40 cents on the dollar back for our projects.

Not that I don't take your word for it but do you have a link or anything that I can research the topic

Just research the economics professor at UofL Paul Coomes for the facts.

Not really...Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, Rochester. All cities with populations over 100,000 people, and cities I've personally been to that thrive in the economy of the State of NY. Half my family lives in New York, so that's really an apples to oranges conversation. The only city aside from Louisville in the state of Ky that puts forth any economic value to Frankfort is Lexington (hardly), because the state of Ky as whole is basically a 3rd world country.

Seriously? Are you a 16 year old girl? No grown man would see them.

I go to upstate NY for work a lot. The locals have a bone to pick with you if you think that region is thriving.

Why would a state rep from Lexington push for a business in Louisville. That is total BS. I'm getting damn tired of this hillbilly crap.
