Coach should take the blame. He's the coach and he's responsible for how the players are prepared to play. The last two games, the players for what ever reason were not ready to play especially Nwora and he's a key player.

I fully support coach Mack but he has to fix this. He gets paid millions so there are no excuses. Just fix it coach. Do your job.

Not sure if these #'s help the don't panic narrative though.

They appear they could be headed towards the 4-6 loss in Feb range, which puts them aligned with an NIT team and a OAD NCAA team.

Also, who are the list of losses over the years against? This is probably the most concerning thing for fans that would be on edge. They just lost back to back games to awful teams. The hope would have been okay, dropped one, don't let it happen again. To follow a loss to a roughly .500 team with a blowout to another roughly .500 team has to sound some alarms.

I still say there is plenty of basketball left though. At this point, if they can get Nwora "back" into being a contributing part of the team yes they can turn it around. This is one of the stranger seasons I've seen. Not throwing in the towel on them either yet OP!

When we were in the Big East and the first few years of the ACC, we were playing 8-10 teams that were in the tournament or on the bubble. The schedule was tough and losses were expected.

These 2 losses aren’t “Oh it happens” for a team that has national title hopes. They weren’t even fluke losses, we got out played and pushed around.

If youre referring to me then you have a reading comprehension problem.
I clearly stated these were his players.
Not his fault. That belies Coach Mack.

50% of the fanbase has not fully accepted Coach Mack these first 2 years. Youre supposed to give a coach who is competent, 4 yrs to establish his program Its hard to do when he has players who were brought here for a different skill set AND certain fans calling for a new Coach after each loss.
There were fans saying he wasnt good enough during the 10 game win streak.
Always bringing up the last guy.

Lastly, there would be no Coach Mack here at this time if that jackass had properly monitored the program.
The fact that some fans still worship that clown is Disgusting.

Another February funk which was more infamous. 2011-12 season ,

Cards were 5-4, losing the 4 out of the last 6 games including the "great" senior night debate.

Finished the regular season 22-9.
Went on an 8 game post season win streak to reach the Final Four.

Does this team have that in them ?
Doesnt look like it.
Then again nobody thought that yeam would reach the Final four either.

I will never believe RP knew anything about strippergate or Pay for play until it’s proven. RP failed to hire/monitor/ 2 asst coaches in a NCAA BB world full of corruption.

This is not a knock on Mack, it's just the reality of his resume vs prior HOF coaches here - that's a tough bar to be measured by.

These last two losses are just bad. Sleepwalking efforts that make people wonder if the team would rather the season just be over. There's a human element that we aren't privy too... is something going on with a player or two, and has it morphed the entire roster. Are they just tired mentally and need a step back? Is there a fractured locker room? Nobody around here knows.

I like the glass half full story. We beat Duke & Va this year. We stumbled with GT & Clemson.

I couldnt wait till he was gone.

He is in charge of his assistants and players whether he knew or not. Didnt even need Bowen, yet his recruitment could put UofL on another probation and another post season ban. Hopefully theyll back off since they refuse to investigate certain nike schools.

I remember the good times from 1984-2001. Until the NCAA restores thec2 Final fours , the wins and the Big East Titles, i will never speak his name again.

Ok, the fans that hated RP because TJ replaced DC with him crowd. I know that crowd well because I have friends from that crowd.

I'm still friends with that group even though we agreed to disagree on history, it was time and DC was still taking in big bucks yearly. I still stand and cheer DC for what he did in his productive years for my Cards with 2 Championships and what I called Denny Ball.

As I will for the man, if he ever gets honored, and I doubt that, for bringing us Pitino Ball which I loved. That's my prerogative, as is yours.

We got beat by basically 20 by a team with a .500 record a day after getting beat by a team with a losing record. That’s a little different. Also, I don’t compare our program with the one in Lessington.

That quote yesterday by coach Mack ought to bother everyone in red and black. Yes it’s Mack’s job to have these guys ready but what does it say about this group of players, who are full of experience and depth and just last week were edging toward a 1 seed in mid February?

I sure hope we can turn it around but I’m not really optimistic.

Really, my fellow CARD fan? These are young men in their late teens and early 20's who have been blessed to pay for college, have a great living facility, good travel experience and play basketball. No need to mention the beautiful young girls on campus.

They are spoiled. Maybe a teammate didn't speak to them or someone didn't smile at them. I was at the GT game and could see the lack of support for one another. Yes they did the usual ceremonial hand shakes and smiles but it wasn't from their hearts.

They need to believe in TEAM first or they will not succeed. Even in today's game of men's college basketball one player can't carry the team. Look at the Duke team last year. Zion + a Hall of Fame coach couldn't win it all. I'm done. Please forgive my long sermon. Go CARDS! Beat Syracuse!
