Hey to all! Just spoke with a source close to the Louisville program as they start to wrap up workouts for a bit (tomorrow is the last day and they return August 23rd). Here’s some quick notes.
Top four players standing out right now are El Ellis, Jae’Lyn Withers, Kamari Lands, and Brandon Huntley-Hatfield.
Ellis - They’re working on making him a true point instead of a combo. Been working on lead guard skills and he’s been adjusting well and shooting the ball well.
Lands - Exceeding expectations and they expect that to role over into the season and him out-perform his ranking. Very mature and handling his big role well. Shooting the ball well.
Withers - Going to be in a do-it-all role for this team. Can bring the ball up if there’s a mismatch and initiate the offense. Multi-dimensional role. All about confidence & health with Withers, and he’s in good shape. Body is great.
BHH - He’s been really, really good. For him, it’s all about being in the best shape and that’s what the main focus is currently.
Outlook: They’re going to lean on strong defensive play and be a defensive team. Strong post players and strong wings. Belief is that they can switch 1-5 at times.
Working on all-around skill sets. Guards working on big man skills, big men working on guard skills.
