Forbes getting absolutely no help from the defense. Wind is really giving them fits. Forbes gives up a 2r HR and the guy on base reached on an error and the guy who homered stayed up after a foul popout that was dropped. Really driving up Forbes pitchcount

As soon as I typed that they hit another HR. The wind blowing out to right is massive.
Another dropped pop-out. Strange how their guys have no issues but they're making us look like a t-ball team.

Don't love Alicea at the leadoff spot so far this year. Doesn't make enough solid contact or see enough pitches to be a really effective leadoff guy in my opinion. Think he's better suited at the bottom of the order where there isn't nearly as much pressure on him.
Damn, that ball was hit s long way. Just left of dead center. Davis becoming a legend in front of our eyes.
He's a pretty good first baseman too. We need to keep this kid here.
You could legimately switch Alicea with Moore at 1 and 2 because their stats are almost identical but Dan needs guys getting on base for the power guys in our lineups. Or you could do what MLB does and bat your overall best hitter Rose in the leadoff but don't think Dan would do that. He wants table setters. Alicea brings a certain flair and energy to the lineup so I give the nod to him over Moore.
I think Moore is the better overall hitter. Alicea, his size and his hitting ability, I think make him a tough out. Plus, he has speed. CDM has moved batters around before. If Alicea is not getting on base he’ll make a switch.
I think the key to us being a really good offensive team is the 1-2 guys getting on base. Instant disruption of the psyche of opposing pitchers and defenses. If they get on, it's highly probable they're gonna score with no outs.
Rose is a guy that will drive the ball into gaps, already leading the team in doubles. Those two guys at the top just have to be the best at getting on base,where they can do their magic.

I do think that's a fair point about him being better from the left side. I also like Mac switching him and Moore in the lineup for game 3. I think collectively our top 5 in the lineup have hit about as well as you could hope to start the year, just have to find the right guys to plug in at the bottom of the lineup outside of Davis and hopefully Pike. I think when EKjr gets back it'll bring a lot more consistency throughout the lineup.
