Alright guys, I’ve figured out how we can spin the loss into a good thing(or maybe not so completely terrible). Yes, we loss to a division 2 school that went 10-18 and didn’t have their 2 leading scorers for the game, yes Louisville might’ve lost to the worst opponent they’ve ever gone up against. But maybe this loss was so bad it’s not even worth putting stock in, let me explain: Louisvilles 2 returning leading scorers combined for a total of 6 points in this game. Remember El Ellis dropped 25 on the national runner ups and Syd Curry had 3 20+ pt games last year against ACC opponents. Kamari Lands was hyped up all offseason and barely made an impact. Clearly we can do better, because it also couldn’t be any worse. It didn’t even look like Louisville was trying. I mean would you have rather had Louisville play their absolute hearts out and then lost by 2? I wouldn’t. We didn’t lose because of El Ellis foul trouble, we literally did better in the half that he played the least minutes, and this is after he was hyped up as the guy we couldn’t play without. We lost because no one knew what they should be doing. The game was basically Louisville would half ass everything about their performance and pass up good looks, while Lenore Rhyne tried their hardest. I’m not making excuses, but there is nowhere to go but up. Last year we had multiple losses where it looked like we did our best (Notre Dame, UNC, Duke, Furman) and played with intensity. We got a clear look at the ceiling of that team. This game just showed us the floor. It was so inexplicably bad, that there’s no way that these guys can’t be better. I have no clue what our ceiling is. I just know that our floor is. If we have no effort we’ll lose to a d2 school, but that’s the same with any team. This game didn’t give us an idea of what any of these players could be down the line because they played so Fcking badly, but they’re d1 athletes though and highly recruited so it has to be better than this. I mean Fabio would be the best recruit in Lenore Rhyme history. Overall here it is: Louisville couldn’t have played worse, the players didn’t try, we have no idea how good this team can play if they actually have coherent coaching, substitutions, and on court decisions. Talent is not the issue right now.

Before this gets reposted on a UK thread as a Louisville fan trying to excuse a d2 loss I want to clarify I am kind of joking around.
