Sounded like Rick got choked up at the national presser

Maybe he is just exhausted but Rick sounded so emotional while talking about the game tonight during the press conference.

I can understand why. Terry even interrupted Coach Pitino when he was saying how proud he was of his guys' effort to say that Rick was responsible for getting them to play every minute like that.

That was great stuff. I'm proud of our coaches and players. Enjoy the week fellow Cards fans!

He has every right to get a bit emotional. This team has been a real challenge for him to bring together, yet bring it together he did.

I am convinced this is his best coaching job since he was hired in 2001. What he has been able to do with this roster of players is nothing short of remarkable IMO.

26 wins with bunch of freshmen, 1 true sophomore, 1 beast of a junior, and 1 injury riddled for his career senior while playing in the best basketball conference on the planet AND dealing with off the court distractions all season long?

Get emotional coach! You've earned it.

What's funny is this morning on ESPN Dicky V was talking about Kansas and how Self got as much as he could out of that group, and how they lacked talent. Kansas has a roster of 5, 5 star players and 4, 4 star players. Point is Pitino gets ever bit out of every player on his roster.
