Louisville Softball had no trouble dousing the Flames last night in Chicago.

In the 12-3 win, Taylor Roby (15-8) got the start in the circle and earned her 15th win of the season, a career-high for the senior. Roby went five innings before giving way to freshman Sam Booe in the circle. Her 46 career wins is eighth-best in program history. With three strikeouts in the circle, Roby now has 299 career strikeouts, eighth-best in program history.

At the bat, Louisville got a home run from Roby as well and were comfortably ahead 7-1 after the top of the fifth inning.

Roby, Vanessa Miller and Kendall Smith all had three RBI's for the Cards, who put together 10 hits against UIC. Eight Cardinals scored runs.

With her home run in Wednesday's game, Roby now has a career-high 15 on the season and stands fourth on Louisville's single season list. She needs one more to move into a tie for second with Melissa Roth (2009 and 2010). Courtney Moore owns the record with 17 home runs in the 2005 season.

Roby also extends her career home run total to 40 and stands second on Louisville's all-time list, needing two more to tie the school record of 42 set by Courtney Moore (2004-07)

After scoring two runs in Wednesday's game, Carmyn Greenwood extends her career-best season total to 54. She stands fourth on Louisville's single season list and needs five more to move into a tie for third with Melissa Roth (2010).

Louisville (27-21, 10-11) heads to Notre Dame next for their final three-game series of the regular season before the ACC Tournament begins . The Irish are 36-9 on the season and 13-5 in conference play. They sit fourth in the conference, the Cards are in seventh place.
