From the New York Liberty website:

The New York Liberty today announced that center Kylee Shook will miss the 2022 WNBA season due to personal reasons and her contract will be suspended. Out of respect of her privacy, Kylee will not be taking media interviews.

Shook, the Liberty’s No. 13 overall selection in 2020 from Louisville, averaged five points, 3.5 rebounds, one assist and 17.1 minutes through her first 50 career games while shooting a combined 44.6% (103-231) from the field and 34.6% (27-78) from three.

“I have the utmost respect for Kylee. I know that she did not come to this decision easily and while she loves her teammates, the New York Liberty organization, as well as our fans, basketball needs to be secondary for her right now,” said Liberty General Manager Jonathan Kolb. “We all have our own journey and this decision is part of Kylee’s and we support her 100 percent".

As of right now, these UofL alums appear to make the opening day roster:

Dana Evans- Chicago Sky
Emily Engstler- Indiana Fever
Kianna Smth- Los Angeles Sparks
Angel McCoughtry- Minnesota Lynx
Asia Durr- New York Liberty
Myisha Hines-Allen- Washington Mystics

I was looking at their roster yesterday and assumed she got released. I later read about her personal choice on TOS. She is one of my favorite all time Cardinal players and wish her the best dealing with her personal issues.

Kylee was a helluva player for us, she was a tough match up. She was 6-5 or so, great shot blocker/rebounder and was a threat on 3's. She improved every year.

good luck to her
