Big weekend with the Conference championship on the line. I wish we were in control but we threw that away last week dropping a game to Temple. We need to UCF to lose at least one game to UConn. On another issue, it has been kept pretty quiet but the game we lost to Temple was the game that Ruxer pitched and only went 3 innings. Game notes indicate that FR Rogers (1-2) will get the Saturday nod indicating that Ruxer may be hurt. I hope Josh steps up but more importantly, that Ruxer is not seriously hurt. Our chances for a long postseason will greatly diminish without Rux. We just never developed a consistent 4th or 5th starter.

Sure would like to hear something definitive about Ruxer.
We just scored two in the eighth in game 1 to go ahead 5-1. Funkhouser gave up I unearned run in six innings. Three out away from a win. Sparger is in his third inning. K, ground out, single , 2-2 count, single. Two on , two out. Burdi time.
Burdi goes 3-1 on UC's leadoff batter. He singles - bases loaded.

K!! Cards win 5-1

Great news. UCF and CT played a DH because of impending weather. UCF lost both games - 5-4 and 6-5. We are back in biniz!!!

Magic number is one.

Wow! Yes!!! UCF loses two games to UConn, 6-5 and 5-4. Those must have been exciting, but frustrating losses!

Now we can control our own destiny again!

Go Cards!!!!

Cards win 5-1 and are 41-13 now!!! Funk gets the win and Burdi got another save. Chitty had 2 hits and Lucas had 2 rbis. Interesting notes: Whiting was moved out of the leadoff spot and White who played CF was leadoff. Funk threw 126 pitches tonight....

Chitty has really stepped up at the plate this year. His glove is one of the best on the team but his hitting the last two years was not good at all. He has really shown improvement this year and had some big hits.

Bad news. Middle Florida beat the Huskies today 7-6. The magic number is still one. Let's win tonight so we can play without and pressure tomorrow.
