Ryan McMahon

Tonight on the Rick Pitino Show, Coach P said Q's about a week away. Mentioned potentially coming back for Miami (probably won't start if so) or Syracuse. Also said he didn't know when Hicks would be back, and that next week they'll check to see how he's healing.

Could have used Tony last night, he's a great weapon to have against teams like Florida St. and Virginia. Both defense and offense. Currently at two weeks after the injury occurred, so hopefully he's healing quickly and will be back in the next week or two!

As for Ryan who is just a freshman, I like what I see. Not ready right now for regular minutes but craftiness look promising

The bad thing about Snider's injury is he's not able to keep his cardio conditioning. It's going to take him some time to get 100% back even after he's cleared to play. At least Hicks can keep running even with a cast on his hand.

Snider can still do upper body strength stuff.....and likely can swim for his cardio stuff. Not sure....the Trainers on staff have something for him to do I'm sure.

I think he could do a stationary bike. No side to side movement is what I remember them saying.

Ryan simply wasn't ready to be thrust into the fire like he was against UVA, and if it wasn't for the injuries and certain players being knuckle heads he wouldn't have had to. Ryan is a player that needs to be brought along slowly. He has value right now as a good outside shooter and I'm willing to bet that he will have some more big moments for UofL down the line.

He is crafty, but I agree he needed to be brought along slowly. His defense is getting better though. He had 2 steals in the Virginia game. When the game starts to slow down for him, we'll get to see that pure jump shot he has. Right now he is rushing his shot most of the time so he's not as accurate as he could be.

He screams match-up based playing time.

One thing you have to admire - he has the green light, and he takes it.

This guy is going to be a real weapon by his Jr/Sr year off the bench.

Those big moments may come sooner than later LMFAO

Ryan's poise and confidence, even in big game situations, has really impressed me. You'd think maybe he would be at least a bit timid like in the Cuse OT game but he was the exact opposite and hit some huge shots. So glad he was red-shirted last season and has already proved his worth thus far. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he develops over the next few years.

Ryan's poise and confidence

The confidence is what stands out. It's pretty amazing how Pitino can seem to bring that out of so many guys, but not reach a few others.

But for whatever reason, Ryan's definitely got "it" going, and you got to give a ton of credit to the player but I really think Pitino deserves some credit for this too.

How many RS FR guys that entered the season as a 3rd string PG are making this kind of impact at this level? The answer rhymes with hero.
