With all the off season bickering on here it’s nice to see one of our favorite sons doing well. He has a very real chance to make the Carolina Panthers as Christian McCaffrey’s backup or a third option. He had a really good showing in the 2nd preseason game against the Bears and sounds like he has put himself in position to be on an opening day NFL roster somewhere.

Not sure many of us expected that but it couldn’t happen to a better guy.

This kid continues to impress. I remember meeting him and his mother at a THE UofL recruiting party at Saints (St. Matthews) when he was a junior at Trinity. They were both very nice and also very aware of not violating any NCAA rules by having us not purchase anything for them to eat or drink as they paid for everything themselves. My best memory of Reggie is that we would not have beat ND without him. Plus I always thought he was misused by CBP. Good luck to this good young man in his pursuit of an NFL career.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

Cut day is this Sunday. While extremely gifted, he doesn’t have a natural position. I hope he makes it, and I’m impressed he’s still going at it, but I think he gets cut and signed to the practice squad.

Panther fans really like Reggie based on Twitter, and they really want him to make the team.

Even though I am a fan of Artis-Payne I think the position flexibility of Bonnafon has more value to the team.

Ron values RB that can pick up blitzes, Bonnafon has shown he's capable of doing it. I think this & his route running make CAP expendable.

I’m good on Bonnafon.

How close is it with Artis-Payne and Reggie Bonnafon? The fact that they have Bonnafon's exclusive rights and CAP is a UFA after this year has to play into things a bit, right?

I like Bonnafon a lot. He would be my RB2 because of his receiving ability.

I've been looking at a lot of roster projections since I saw this thread. Basically, it comes down to the last preseason game for Reggie. If he makes the team, he's likely to be the 52nd or 53rd guy. I'd say him making it is 40/60. That could change Thursday night.

Hope Reggie can make it to the game on Monday. If he shows up on the sideline Cardinal Stadium will be rocking even more. Plus it will remind the clover leafs what happened last time they faced the Cards.

Bonnafon has made the final Panthers roster. And not just as the last running back, but apparently as McCaffrey'a backup, so he'll likely see some real action. I've sometimes wondered what might have happened if he had been kept at qb, to back up Jackson, and redshirt a year, and then he could have taken over last year. In any case, he's beginning to look like a nice running back - he made a great catch the other night, to go with some nice runs. Good luck Reggie!

Bingo! Go get em Reggie.

I know they loved his ability to be a reliable receiver out of the backfield and his versatility.

He was said to be a favorite among the other players since he was on the Practice Squad last year.

as a trinity alum, you can now add Reggie to the NFL of players to make from trinity. old school, but Donnie Gardner (forgot?), Mike Pfeiffer (Miami?), and then you actually had Carwell Gardner (Buffalo) and Jeff Brohm (San Diego) appear in Super Bowls. finally Brian Brohm (Packers) never really played but was a backup. anyone else i forgot? still pretty cool that at least five players made ti to the NFL from my alma mater. btw they just kicked ass over the #1 ranked team in Indiana back to back weeks.

I just saw this and was going to post it. I am so excited for Reggie. He is listed as the second string RB. Funny thing is a UK fan told me. It could not have happened to a better guy. Reggie is my favorite Card right after Teddy.

BONNAFON JUST MADE THE HIGHLIGHTS!!! HE RECOVERED A BLOCKED PUNT INSIDE THE 10!!!
plus Devante Parker made a huge catch to make the reel too earlier
