Meanwhile in Starkville - MSU has gone from #56 in 2016 to #6 this year. Wonder if there’s any correlation?
More and more of Charlie's leave and the D slowly gets worse, now they're all gone and it's a drastic drop off. Grantham didn't do much to help the talent pool, we need better players...
It is really hard to say if Gratham was a really good coordinator or his defenses were good enough to stop bad offenses. They only played a couple good offenses and didn't do very well. People are giving him a pass on recruiting and like it or that is part of the equation.
The most troubling thing about this defense is they can't stop bad offenses. Purdue, and North Carolina aren't good offensively. While I don't think this unit has a good front 7 to stop the run they should be able to hold BC in check. That doesn't make me feel too good about the rest if the season.
