Question about Garrick McGee?

Marrow was definitely the lead recruiter but our staff recruits every player as a staff. Each assistant is assigned a geographical area, each coach is also heavily involved with recruiting the position that they coach, and to a lesser degree the coordinators recruit their side of the ball. There are 3 coaches recruiting all of our primary targets. Rivals will credit Marrow but Thomas deserves some credit too because guys don't commit without heavily considering their position coach

Hey man, don't you think someone should have alerted your HC that you need QB's? You know, as of years ago?

If that's true - how do they get any OL commits? Schlarman is terrible.

Bottom line is that Stupes and the rest of the yut staff have grossly underperformed in every area except recruiting - which is a complete unknown until you see how those kids perform at the collegiate level. Besides, it does no good to have 4stars if you don't know what to do with them.
Just because they were rated 4 stars doesn't mean they should be tearing up college football by their sophomore year. They still need time to develop and adjust the the speed and complexity of the game. Stoops has redshirted most of each class he's signed even when we've had severe depth issues. He's sacrified winning in the short term for the long-term benefit of the players and the program. He could've loaded up on a bunch of JUCO's and transfers to win immediately but then you put yourself in a position to have to keep doing that every year.

Schlarman just signed two army All-Americans (one is a 5 star) on the OL that he was the lead recruiter for from the start. He's also the lead recruiter for Jedrick Wills who is a 5 star and will almost certainly sign with the Cats. It's impossible to say how good of a developer of talent he is at this point because our OL was so atrocious when he got to UK. He's been working with guys that had no business playing at this level and the ones they've recruited were playing as freshmen and RS freshmen. Our Oline will have a lot of experience and they will be his guys this year so he can be fairly judged on how they perform

Oh so that's it huh? Lmao! Can't make this $hit up folks. Wash, rinse and repeat EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. It never flipping fails.

He didn't have enough time to sign a decent QB in the 2013 class because he was hired 2 months before NSD and QBs commit so early these days. He landed Barker in 2014. In 2015 the staff was certain that they were getting in-state Elijah Sindelar. He had all but promised a commitment and chose Purdue late in the cycle for their engineering program and left the staff without many options. 2016 we signed Gunnar Hoak who is a four star on ESPN. We've signed a 4 star QB every other class. 2015 was really the only year that we should've taken a QB and didn't. I don't think the staff thought at the time that Towles would fail to develop and transfer. Reese Phillips also transferred out so the QB situation got ugly quick but it wasn't as dire in 2014 when we decided not to take a QB in that class

The staff knew the first two years were a wash. They inherited a dumpster fire from Joker. Why play a few kids that might help you win a game or two more in a season that you know will ultimately be a failure anyways? You'd be wasting a year of a kid's eligibility when he isn't ready to make a serious contribution

Hahaha! A "game or two more" would've meant a bowl game but yeah Stoops & Staff in its collective wisdom decided against that. This isn't bayskeetbawl. You're an absolute joke. "Knew it was a wash" my eye! That why they made tshirts for beating .500 SC and your clown coach proclaimed "we're just getting started bro"? You sound like a North Korean with your alternate reality crap

So in one breath these "kids might help you win a game or two" but in the other breath "he isn't ready to make a serious contribution." Which is it? And I dare say that a player that helps you "win a game or two more" is a "serious contributor." Yep ol Porky is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers, right Chester?

The staff didn't think they would win 5 games in 2014 with the team they had. They thought they would only win 3-4 games that year. They've said that in hindsight they would've played more guys if they'd known a bowl was a possibility but we were 6 games into the season and they hadn't been prepared to play at that point

When comparing a kid's RS Junior and Senior season to their freshmen year it's not a serious contribution. They would've likely been 2nd string players for much of the season but been helpful at the end of the year when we had gone 8 straight weeks in the SEC without a bye week. The depth would've helped us win another game but individually they wouldn't have had a huge impact

That's a load of crap. Stoops would have his left nut to win a game or two more than he did the last couple of years. Face it Stoops recruits couldn't beat out Joker's recruits.

I'm glad our staff doesn't make excuses and worry about playing true and redshirt Freshman to win games. Catfan keep thinking of more excuses as to why Stupid can't win this season when his first class will be in their fourth season. What a joke of a program you and your BBN have attached yourselves to.

Exactly. If wins and losses don't matter to Stupes - why wouldn't he play a more talented underclassman and get him the reps, rather than lose with "joker's dumpster fire recruits"?

Answer - you wouldn't UNLESS you were trying to win right away and thought those upperclassmen gave you the best chance. I would love to see what kind of recruiting porky would do if Harbaugh had plucked Marrow out of Lexington - would have been jokeresque.
