What is our chances and what needs to happen for us to make the PO'S after Miami losing and Pitt losing??? **** I wish Clemson lost too but of course they came back. But our chances HAVE to be better with those two losing right?

We can only control our own performances. If we win out, beating Pitt and UK (despite the Cats record), our Bowl designation may surprise a lot of folks. I have little expectation for ACC Championship this regular season, but there will be a lot of changes in the top 20 rankings between now and then.

Don't think playoffs are a reality.

SMU has to lose all 3 remaining conference games.

Clemson has to lose to Pitt.

Miami has to lose both to Wake and Syracuse.

We have to beat Stanford and Pitt.

But the most likely would take 2 things to happen, Clemson losing to Pitt and Miami losing both of their games even if we win out.

What has to happen for us just to get into the ACC Championship game besides running the table? That's probably the only possible way to catapult whoever it is we would play and obviously would have to win that game very convincingly to work into that top 12.

Per Kelly Dickey:

Louisville will have a 15% chance of making the ACC Championship game if it beats Stanford and Pittsburgh because of the possibility of three or more teams tying at 6-2. UofL would win a multi-team tiebreaker with Miami and Clemson because those three teams didn't play each other and have no common opponents, causing the tiebreaker to be the combined win percentage of ACC opponents.

...and I don't find the odds of Clemson losing at Pitt and Miami losing at Syracuse to be as remote as you'd think.

What would make anybody believe we could beat them?
Oh,I don't know. Maybe it's what we saw against Clemson. They have owned us but these things don't typically last forever. I think we're a much better team than this time last year. We are trending in a direction differently than last season.

UK’s defense can make Clemson look like a teddy bear. Will they? Who knows but they are much faster and more physical.

Pitt has been exposed. I think they even benched their QB against Virginia. Clemson
offense isn’t very good but their defense is pretty good. Plus that field is a slow track. Probably a low scoring game so never know.

Syracuse is a weird place to play. Not sure they could get enough stops though.

We better worry about Stanford. We almost laid an egg at BC. Nothing is a surety for this team. Pitt will be a tough game too.

What would make anybody believe we could beat them? They have absolutely owned us. They will be sky high ready again.
Because Louisville has beaten them a bunch of times. If you're going to use past games why not use that stretch when Louisville won something like 8 out of 10?

They can be sky high all they want. They don't have a QB so they don't have an offense. They're not going bowling and many on their team will already be packing their bags before this game is over.

They have nothing to play for except the rivalry but once they get down by a couple of scores, they will start thinking about what they're going to do next.

Louisville on the other hand have all kinds of motivation to win.

I bet Brohm doesn’t share your confidence. He’s worried about tgat game all season but what does he know?
I’ve been around long enough to KNOW that we can beat a lot of teams, and we can lose to a lot of teams.

Therefore, I go into almost every game looking to win because I know we can.

I don’t care to go through life bitching about my team sucking before the Kickoff.

Last night the talking heads were saying 5 sec and 4 BIG would be in the top 12

Gee that would be exciting 🙄 🥱
I don't see how 5 SEC make it, unless they predetermine before the conf championship. Lot of football left and several of those teams have to play each other.

4 Big 10 on the other hand looks likely bc the conference sucks so bad and most of the teams at the top all didn't have to play each other. OSU, Oregon, and Penn St look like locks. It comes down to what IU does vs OSU, bc their SOS is awful!!

Either way BYU, Boise, and ND look very likely. 1 or 2 ACC teams so that leaves 7 or 8 spots for those 2 conferences. Going to be very interesting!!

Actually we don't know that for sure. Our slide last year didn't start until we lost to UK at home...

Yeah I get that. I'm speculating our best is ahead. It's just an opinion. I think we're gonna be the best in the league before it's all said and done.
My comments after the Clemson game about on-the-field leadership emerging on both sides of the ball are what I see as the difference.
I mean could anybody here have seen our qb doing somersaults a month ago to get in the endzone?
We'll know more by the time the uk game is over,so we'll see 👀

I don’t know how Jeff Brohm feels about uk, but Jeff Sagarin likes us by 10 at home…right now

All we have to do…is do it.

We have witnessed this phenomenon in College Football where individual players are increasingly sitting out games at the end of the season, some to avoid further injury and others focusing on their next plans that suggest a transfer or entering the draft. My UK friends who follow the Cats football program very closely are convinced that several of the Cats packed it in after the loss to Vanderbilt. They have told me that some players interpreted the QB change, as an indication that Stoops has packed it in too.

Anyone who thinks UK is going to beat Texas in Austin is dismissing how important that game is to Texas. UK will be ineligible for Bowl consideration, and Brohm will have his kids as prepared as any game he has ever coached. Barring any unforeseen injuries on our side, we will win convincingly in Lexington this year.

I definitely get that but we can't lose sight that we need to take care of business against Stanford and Pitt first. Its likely UK won't have anything to play for except beating us... again.

Who thinks uk is going to beat Texas @UT? I don’t think the players think that.
UK will be up to playing UofL especially when it’s @uk . Regardless of bowl eligibility it’s a rivalry game and their Super Bowl!
With so many bowl games a 5 win team is eligible if their APR is high enough!

Barring any unforeseen injuries on our side and bad officiating, we will win convincingly in Lexington this year. Fixed it.. I know how our fanbase thinks...

Our Fanbase will not determine the results either way; I saw Brohm beat UK last year everywhere except where it counted: the final score. Statistics will never dictate the final outcome, but for the first time in several years we were the more physical team.

I think we beat Kentucky be like 10-17 points in a 24-10 type of ugly game in the cold.

But they've played some really good teams and QBs and have done well on defense. They don't have a bowl game coming, so this is their game. This is how they'll go out. It's senior day. They don't have too many players who are locks for the draft either. If there were going to be opt outs, they'd opt out now. What the difference between opting out November 12th versus November 30th?

they have a defense good enough to play with anyone. IT's a rivalry game and it's their last game. They'll throw the kitchen sink out there to beat us. And in a game like that, luck can always happen. If they're fired up to play, don't count anything out. A guy like JJ Weaver is playing in his last college game, he's going to come out ready to play and a lot of their other seniors too. They've all played in this game too and know it.

I think we are winning, but we do this every single year going on about how we've watched them and we just know they're not good and all their wins against us were luck and it's going back to the old days. None of that matters in 2024. We have to show up and play to win the game. Bottom line. I think Jeff will have our guys ready to stomp them, but that doesn't mean Stoops won't have his guys ready too.

Good read Lefors!

I will make this one comment; my expressions were not intended to imply that UK is NOT a formidable opponent; in truth they are quite talented and after playing Texas they could easily argue having played the most difficult schedule in all of college football.

My optimism about UL prevailing in our game with UK, is based more about Jeff and his staff’s approach to the upcoming contest. Conversely, I maintain that aside from a few like JJ Weaver, several UK players already “packed it in”, and I expect several of the UK players may not play in the UL game, knowing their season ends after the game. The portal is too attractive right now, given the friction between Stoops and UK.

I have no proof to support my expectation, but I do not believe Stoops will return for the 2025 season, and I think there are a lot of folks around the UK Program who share that feeling.
