I thought this was a telling stat.
Louisville called 38 pass plays, and 39 run plays. In a game where they were down 16 points very early in the 2nd quarter and were down 26 points by halftime. In a game where basically through 3 quarters they were down multiple scores Louisville still called 1 more run play than pass play. In a game where Louisville NEVER looked good running the ball Satterfield still called 39 plays while trailing by multiple scores.
Satterfield called 39 run plays in a game where his RBs were averaging 3.5 YPC.
Roughly it looks like we ran 33 plays in the first half. 18 run plays and 15 pass plays. Satterfield called run plays on first downs 5 times and pass plays 6 times. Whats more confusing is the distance of some of those 18 run plays including first down here are the distances during those 18 run plays 10, 10, 10, 7(2nd), 1 (3rd) 1 (4th) 10 (2nd), 10, 10 , 10, 11 (3rd) , 16 (2nd) 10 (2nd), 10 (3rd), 10, 3 (4th), 11 (2nd), 2 (4th) Some of those down and distance run calls are utterly confusing, especially when you consider how little success Louisville was having. I think the longest run by a UofL RB in the first half was like 8 yards.
