College Football Live Paul Finebaum said one person that won't be taking the job is CBP. Quoted CBP as saying I'm happy at UL I'm going no where. One of the other guys said yeah until they come knocking. Finebaum replied not this time he's staying period. And I don't agree with Finebaum often but he's 100% correct!

Finebaum is a tool. I couldn't believe it when ESPN hired him. Even though they only hired him when they needed SEC material on their new network.

Call me crazy, optimistic, hopeful, whatever. I just don't see Bobby leaving. The Heisman and playoff are legitimate realities for Louisville this year. There's nothing Bobby can do at LSU that he can't do here. I know the guy has always had a "Bobby First" mentality, but at some point he realized how much of an opportunity Jurich has given him(twice).

Definitely agree; if Coach has an appreciation for his own redemption story that will create a positive legacy for the future, then retiring at Louisville is his last chance. As is, it's a real nice version of The Prodigal Son.

Those of us who lived through CBP1 can see a lot of changes in him, mostly with respect to demeanor. CBP2 is more soft spoken, far better with the press, he's far more complimentary of his players, and more free with his praise. CBP1 was not that guy. He was standoffish, volatile, and (let's be honest) he lied to us on more than one occasion about his own career goals (goals are not a crime or shame, conning others by necessity is not a crime but is a shame, lying straight up is a crying shame).

I was definitely skeptical when he was re-hired but he's gradually won me over. But, I've been waiting for one of these moments, an LSU moment. A clear, concise repudiation of coaching rumors is a good thing to add to the stack as evidence. Shooting down these rumors when they come up instead of ignoring them is a good sign IMO.

I always was and always have been a fan of Petrino, the coach. He left here in 2007 having made a dramatic improvement in the program, and I held no ill will toward him whatsoever. All coaches "lie" going out the door with remarks like "no plans" and "I'm the coach here". Technically not lies, but hardly the full and unequivocal truth.

The fans most disappointed are the fans who fall in love with their coaches. Big time coaches esp. are hired guns first and foremost; if you're falling in love now/again, you're setting yourself up for MORE disappointment. And you know what they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

I also never believed the garbage about what Petrino left behind in 2007, his poor recruiting, the character of our players, etc. Just about all of that was revisionist crap spewed to cover for the liabilities of his dismal successor, and to throw Petrino under the bus. Too much of that came from Jurich himself.

I couldn't care less about bad publicity, and I had no misgivings with Petrino being rehired if Jurich and the Petrino family could accept the terms of "marriage". And if Petrino leaves tomorrow--I highly doubt it--I will wave goodbye, thank him again, and look forward to investing the $10 million buyout in our next coaching staff. Thankfully, it doesn't appear that's gonna be necessary maybe for a long time...

Well spoken!
