Papa’s sales still going south

Haven’t bought any in about two years. My little way of letting him know I don’t like his attitude. It’s not that good anyway.

Ungrateful fans that don't eat man food. I buy his pizza because his name is on the Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium.

Papa John's sales slump continues even with Schnatter on sidelines

I know Papa Johns is world wide, but why would anyone in the city of louisville or even bigger cities buy Papa Johns for the simple fact of all the great pizza we have in the city. I could see if you lived in some Po Dunk town like Lexington and your options are limited.

Impellezari's
Clifftons
Bearnos
Wicks
Chubby Rays
Annie's on Rockford Lane
a couple good ones in PRP that I dont know the name of
even Dominos is better than Papa Johns.

It's all matter of opinion but Annie's and Dominos are garbage.

Everyone loved Papa's a few years ago.

Still think it's better than most of the chains.

Bearno's and Wicks are probably my two faves. None of the big chains comes close.

When I first moved to Louisville in 1997, it was all about Wicks. But now I'm more of a Bearno's guy. Speaking of which, their business model has been strange. They continually open and close their locations. BBTB has been there since Anthony's closed. The Westport location has been there a while, too. But, Prospect location closed a few years ago, the Taylorsville Rd location by the Gene didn't last long, the Jeff location across the river recently moved, Highlands location closed, and I get the sense the River Road location is struggling. But, the Jeffersontown location is getting renovated, and a new one popped up in Hurstbourne. I know it's about making money, but a Louisville pizza institution like that, you'd think would have some stability.

it's truly all about the flavor of the sauce. my wife is really particular. she hates pj's regular pizza but their pan pizza has a different sauce and tastes better so we get that delivered. her brother grew up with the owner of wicks so her family always eats their. i myself prefer an actual new york style pizza so spinellis, otherwise pizza in this town is weak if you've ever had a real new york pizza. either normal or deep dish

Yes sir. Ive been all through Italy numerous times. New York style pizza is what White Castle burgers are to say....a gourmet burger. It's like the fast food of pizza.

Impelezzaris is the closest thing in this town to actual authentic Italian pizza. Garage bar is pretty damn close to pizza that you would find on the south Adriatic coast.

The best chain pie is still Godfathers for me......but, not gas station Godfathers. If you can find one of the remaining Godfathers pizza restaurants still open in the state then you found something special.

I used to go to Godfathers when I lived in Fort Knox, loved their pizza. That sucker had meat on it, literally.
