Instead, make these teams play each other for the draft spot. Ex.-On the title side, when there are 4 teams left, the two losing teams play a consolation series to decide the 30th-31st picks. And you expand that down the line so the season never really ends for a team until maybe the last week half the teams don’t play. But that’s it.
You keep playing until there’s no losers left and your draft pick is set. This now eliminates players ever resting because every game, even the regular season is important because you want the best seed. Teams can’t tank because you have to win to earn your draft pick. Owners win because with these extra series they’ll actually average more than 82 game season so every owner gets more home games and more sellouts because very game means something.
