I have watched Duke play 3 times since they gave out the ACC awards. There is no way that Celeste Taylor of Duke deserved the Defensive Player of the Year Award over Mykasa. Taylor is a good player but she does not disrupt the offense of her opponent like Mykasa does.
During their game against VT today the announcers only mentioned her defense 1 time today. In our game they talked about Mykasa and her defense the whole game. I think the awards had more to do with the success of their team during the regular season than comparing the individual players.
