Damn. Even Campbell is no longer capable of throwing strikes. Seems like a theme. Gotta go to the source and that is Williams.

Anybody have a clue as to what McDonnell was ripping Campbell for in the top of the 7th?

Yes, was very nice to see Brandon A back at the plate. Was a pretty big run, to go back up by 4 runs.

As often as I complain about the baserunning, got to give credit where it’s due on that suicide squeeze bunt that scored the 11th run. Worked to perfection!

After the Sunday loss to Clemson, I tried to quit this UL baseball season but could not stay away. This team has some talent, and some exceptional freshman.

What is so disappointing is the lack of control exhibited by our pitching rotation. Again, velocity in the low 80s or in the high 90s is not the problem …….it location. These kids are simply ill-prepared period, and Williams does not appear to have a clue as to where they are before they get to the mound. Campbell performance last night serves as a perfect example of a staff being completely unaware of where the pitcher coming out of the bullpen is in terms of being ready to execute.

Over the weekend we saw 97 mph heaters being delivered waste high in the center of the plate; tailor made for HRs. We also saw some mid 80 mph change ups dropping in on the corners for called strikes …..location, location, location!
