I just read the NCAA passed a new rule you can now play 5 years of college sports. I would think that would be for any sport but I know for sure it is for Volleyball.

Interesting. With pro volleyball getting started here in the US it will be interesting to see how this effects the game. You are good, not top tier, don’t get drafted - go back to school. That helps the school and the individual. Does PK return or Maldonado-Diaz?

Good question that would be great for us. I also read where some of the players thinking they finished their college career went pro. Some of them are upset because they could of played another year of college and earn more money through NIL.

100%. I doubt salary for the pro league is very much and many also play overseas just like WNBA players.

Can you cite or quote this new rule? I don't see any new rules for college volleyball eligibility, now allowing double contact and allowing some jewelry like nose rings ? I think it has always been 5 years to complete 4 years of eligibility, outside of medical waivers, Covid, hardship.

I was reading an article about Former Nebraska volleyball player Lexi Rodriguez who said she was disappointed that this new rule came down after she turned pro. She said if she would have known that she could have played another year at Nebraska she would of stayed in college.

The average pro volleyball player in the US makes $19.00 per hour that is 38,000 per year. The low is 31,000 and the high is $61,000.
