ND, huge task for our Ladies today

I hate to second guess CJW, but I have to wonder what could have been, had he played the freshman more during the regular season. I appreciate that we might have had more losses, but some of these kids are more talented than our upperclassmen who played a lot more minutes.

Cochran’s been playing out of position ever since Liz Dixon graduated. It’s Walz fault for not signing a center that has been able to contribute.
Respectfully disagree. If Cochran's out of position at center, do you really think she has the skills to play the 4? She is shooting 21% on 3's and has 64 turnovers to 37 assists. Those stats don't suggest that she would be better playing outside at the 4 than at center.

I am afraid ulcards1 is correct. Olivia gives 100% effort every game, and I have been pulling for her ever since she arrived here, and appreciate her staying loyal to Jeff. I will add that her rebounding has been a plus every year, but her offensive game has been underwhelming, and her foul proneness on defense is a liability. I do not think she would be able to guard the opponent’s 4, and her perimeter game has not been any better than her efforts inside.

If I was CJW I would ask my team just don’t quit on me go out and give your all. It is obvious this game is over unless things drastically change. I don’t know what happened to Harris she used to be a strong inside player. She had a really great move to the left that was hard to defend she doesn’t use that to her advantage anymore.
We talk about needing more bigs and I do agree with that somewhat but when you ask about Harris and even Cochran, we are used to having better facilitators on getting the bigs the ball to the right player in the right spot. Our bigs are not shot creators. I think Curry has done a decent job of trying to be that person but I think she is more of a 2 than a 1. She is also a player who would benefit from a good PG giving her the ball in a position to score. I hate to say it but the guard play has not been as good since HVL left.

She’s not a stretch-4. She’s got a decent mid range game, when she’s not shooting one legged off balance shots in order to try to get the ball over women who are 4 inches taller than she is. My point is, UofL needs a Liz Dixon type of post player to play that position so that she doesn’t have to.

With a true center to play off of, she’d also be able to post up against a smaller defender, because the post defender would be guarding our center.

And she would have made many fewer turnovers passing it inside to that type of post player than she has made this year trying to pass it in to freshman who don’t yet know when they should cut to the basket, or to inexperienced post players like Jufferman.
