NCAAT baseball: UofL vs Xavier ESPNU

What happens in elimination games, for the most part,is the team on the ropes just claws their hearts out to keep it from happening.

Much like the NCAA basketball tourney.

New game.Love it.I was there, but I'm relaxing(yeah right) now on my sofa getting ready for Monday.

Props to the X-men.....gamer's from start to finish.....great, hard fought win for the Cades and should be a confidence builder heading into the Supers.

Go Cards.....Beat Everybody!!!!

I don't really know what to think of our pitching going forward with one reliable starter and 3-4 reliable arms (at most) in the bullpen.

But it's better to be playing at this point than not playing, so I guess you just focus on the positives and keep 'grinding'...

Definitely need more production out of BM and DE offensively moving forward. Hope Mann got that game out of his system, he was super shaky. Absolutely no excuse at this level to make that type of base running mental error. It's those types of things that have plagued UofL the last few post seasons that have kept games close and ultimately costing them wins.

It was an exciting game to watch. The bottom of the lineup has certainly become the X factor for UofL. The big bats aren't doing anything, but the bottom of the order is doing serious damage. Hopefully the big bats will get things back on track for the final stretch.

Sure would like to see McKay and Ellis get hot at the plate, but seeing the younger guys, who will be the core for next year, excel is definitely promising for the future. Stowers has all-star written all over him.

I attribute some of this to the recent lineup changes. While I think it is potentially our most potent lineup, CDM hasn't used it much until recently.

Yep, need to lock in Hairston-Lyman-Stowers-Snider at the bottom, which probably locks in the other guys at the top. :D

On a side note...... Has anyone ever seen a player in any sport that has the poker face McKay does? Dude never smiles, never frowns. Always has that same neutral look on his face. Up 10, down 10, Homerun or strike out the game face is always the same.

Second side note: How many are pulling for UK to win tonight so they'll be in Louisville next weekend for another potential matchup? I am.

I kinda like LPT's 0-fer in baseball regionals. For a school with so many embarrassing sports records, that's a good one to keep...

They're officially not Ofer now. This weekend is the first super regional in school history.
