6-1 not looking good the only offensive strikes we are getting are soft touches to keep the ball alive. PSU is very good a placing the ball we are a step behind.
we're getting outplayed today. it just sucks getting to this point and having to play without all your bullets in the chamber.
We played awful the whole match really bad sets and defense was not that good. All that said PSU was really good and you can’t play bad against a team that good. DeBeer probably could have made it closer but I don’t think we would have beat them anyway. Great season for us and I hope we will continue to be in the hunt every year.
No doubt in my mind that Anna DeBeer would have made difference! Difficult to adjust as a Team, on two days to develop a new Game Plan, w/o your best player, All- American! That said Penn State played very well today, and they were the better Team. They were the better team IMO! Because our Team was w/o it's best player on the floor. It sucks for UL, and Anna personally no doubt! Thank you for a very exciting season, a Final Four! And a Runner Up Award! Congrats to Penn State! They are the Champions!
Looking on to next year. This is a Young Team, and we will continue to get Top Level National Talent with Coach Kelly! She has established UL as a National Power, and also the Premier Program in the Kentucky. She will need some NIL support and deserves it. Until Nebraska has a Coaching change, she will be at UL! We will need to be willing to pay her the market rate, whatever that is. The Louisville Metro Area is Hot Bed of Youth Volleyball. I believe Coach Kelly will be able to get the players she wants from this area. Fans have to trust her on that, because she will also get some of the best players in the U.S., and perhaps an international player or two, could end up on the Roster!
Thank you, Anna DeBeer, for staying that 5th year. This is an effort to bring a Championship to UL, and Assumption H. S.. Looking forward to seeing you soon, either as a Young Coach, or the next UL media celebrity! Joining Katie George, and Luke Hancock!!

Like everyone else without the last name DeBeer, I was expecting Anna to be able to play, but alas, it was not to be. I honestly believe her absence made it impossible for us to win, as it would be equivalent to PSU missing Mruzik, as Anna is more than our All American, she was the heart and soul of this roster.
If Anna was 100% and available, I truly believe we win NC, despite acknowledging that PSU is very good.

Could not have said it any better 2330859! Exactly how I feel! Yes, PSU is a great Team, but hey had all their bullets in the Chamber like Dan said. With Anna B. in there, IMO we would be hanging a banner tonight. But the Volley Gods did not what that, and our fate for a Natti was sealed on Thursday night early in the 4th Set! At some point Anna B. sub, Peterson, a true Frosh, and future star! She may end up being even better than Anna B. But that should never have been an expectation for tonight. And to be honest, not really very disappointed! Our Team, played as hard as they could, and left it on the FLOOR literally !! So Proud of our Team!!
Sorry JMAC, I must take exception to your opinion, and I will use the comparison of Mruzik to Pitt’s Babcock as evidence of why I believe that UL wins the NC if it had not been for the injury to DeBeer. Mruzik is incredibly good, but I believe most observers would acknowledge that Babcock is not only better than Mruzik, Babcock’s performance (31 kills) in Pitt’s loss with DeBeer on the court was more impressive than Mruzik’s 29 kills in their win over UL without DeBeer on the court. Mruzik’s 29 kills was most impressive, it should be noted that she enjoyed that higher number of kills based upon the record setting number of points (201) in an NCAA VB match.
Pitt was the best team in the country coming into the tournament. Go back and look at DeBeer’s performance in the 3rd set in UL’s win over Pitt as evidence of her ability to literally take over a set or a match ….. Anna was dominating in those last 4 points of in that most critical third set win.

Was PSU better yesterday-yes. Can’t take anything away from them. Anna was an X-factor for that team and most certainly would have made a difference. PSU know she was out and I guarantee you that gave them a confidence boost. They targeted Peterson (as I would have) and had some success doing so. Fact is - it was a Brilliant season! Look at what is coming back, incoming size and…if they add an experienced outside hitter (or two) we could easily see this team right back in the mix for a championship next season.
For whatever reason Cresse and Kong did not play well at the net as they usually do with Anna on the court. You have to give credence to the belief that we would have defended better with her leadership on the court.
