We are still the leader for Ament who will announce his decision April 1st at the McDonald’s All Star game. Right now we have put together close to $87,000 that is more money then Duke or sUcK. Duke is reaching out to Ament about becoming part of the Duke history and having so many of the former players contact him about how great it is to be a former Duke player.
They say who ever gets Ament is hating a player who could elevate their program to a higher level. He is described by the talking heads as a generational player.

Because I read it Ament still has a trip to make to Arkansas and Calipari. He is considered a generational player so he is shopping for best offers and the article said he would announce his decision at the McDonalds All American game April 1st.

Where are these articles? I haven't read one that insinuated Louisville being the leader. On3 has Duke as the frontrunner, Rivals shows, strangely enough, as UK being the leader and there's even an article about Google AI predicting who he picks and it lists Duke. Everything I've read suggest Duke is favored.

Can you provide a link, or just state the website, to these articles suggesting Louisville is the frontrunner for Nate Ament?

In the days of NIL, WTH does history and tradition have to do with it?

I guess that would be a “perk”….IF history and tradition were the highest bidder 🤪

There are hundreds of articles on recruiting Nate Ament just google and read them. There is an article on BOAS which is the Arkansas sports outlet. It tells you the schools that are recruiting him and it tells you that Louisville and Duke are way ahead of everyone else. That doesn’t mean that another school can’t come up with a boat load of money to get him.
As of right now Louisville has the largest pot at $87,000. Ament is said to announce his decision on April first which could also change. Louisville and Duke are trending up where sUcK is questionable. His decision might be based on multiple factors, money and maybe he wants to see how the schools finish the regular season.

We all know the schools that are recruiting him. We all know Louisville fans donated more to Fanstake. We all know that Louisville and Duke are trending as the most likely landing spot for Ament. What I don't know is specific articles that specifically state that Louisville is the leader. Not Louisville and Duke. Louisville.

But for some reason, when asked to provide a source, your reply is "Google it". Why not just provide a link or name a website? Unless the website doesnt exist.

Where does a recruiting article list Louisville as "THE LEADER"?

Not saying we don’t lead, but the 87,000 on Fanstake is not gonna be why we get him if we do. Definitely doesn’t hurt us but it won’t be the deciding factor. There’s a lot more to it as far as NIL packages go. Also, thought he already visited Arkansas this weekend?

Who knew in this day and age somebody wouldn't know how to use google. Don't be so lazy and do your own research besides checking with the usual suspects.

I really wonder if the juice is worth the squeeze on the young man. IF, not saying he’d be that type of guy, but IF he wants to be ‘the guy’, etc. - that may not fit what CPK does.

He already made his visit to Arkansas… this past weekend. But from everything I’ve read, his camp has been very tight lipped, and it’s hard to gauge a leader. But you can find articles that will tell you that each of his final 5 schools are his leader.
The last article that said Louisville was his leader was Feb 23rd. Here is a link to an article from yesterday that makes a scary convincing argument that Arkansas is going to be difficult to beat out for Ament.

I read that article earlier and the only thing that bothered me was that John Tyson was there to see him. Obviously Tyson is a game changer but Ament has to realize Calipari had the best talent every year at sUcK and couldn’t do anything with it. Going there wouldn’t elevate his status playing for a team that was awful in the tournament. With the SEC having better coaches and better teams they won’t ever win another SEC title while Calipari is there.
Ament is 6’9” and 180 pounds he is not a one and done with those measurements. More than likely he will go for the immediate money but that could cost him the big money on the back end. I hope whom ever is guiding him is thinking long term.

Reminds me of the old Cedric Henderson recruiting saga during the early Denny Crum days. As for me, I seldom engage in projecting where a UL recruit ends up, as it seldom goes the way that most of the reports go.

The “Camden Connection” was as close to a time when UL was dominating a recruiting cycle, but signing Charles Jones, Derek Smith and Lancaster Gordon were the types of recruits that flew under the radar but yielded incredible results.

For the most part, CPK has shown the value in bringing in mature and experienced Transfers, so it will be interesting if this next year’s class relies on incoming freshmen.

No doubt this kid thinks he's a one and done. He's ranked too high not to. A huge NIL package may not be as necessary for him, as he believes he will be signing a NBA contract a year from now?

As for playing for Calipari, who knows why these top recruits continue to play for him. It doesn't take too much effort to see that winning championships or even making final 4 runs, is something Calipari isn't good at.

Is there any relationships he has with other recruits he would like to play with? Does he have a favorite team he dreamed of playing for? When a star HS recruit who's as highly regarded as Ament is, the one season of college hoops is all about where he feels the most comfortable at.

He doesn't need to seek some advantage at a certain place or coach to become that one and done player. If he likes the overwhelming adulation from the media he will go to Duke. If he wants that same adulation from the fans, he will go to UK. If he feels he needs a coach who has had dozens of NBA players he will choose Arkansas. If he wants to restore an elite program he will go to Louisville.

For me, I'm guessing all the attention Cooper Flagg has received this season will have him choose Duke.

But you never know. One of these top recruits eventually is going to want to be more original than going to Duke or UK.

Yea Tyson being there and others is what kinda scares me too. I agree that it’s probably down to the 3 you mentioned. Not sure I agree with Ament not being a one and done. I do agree that with his measurements, and his age - I’m not even sure he’s 18 yet - he should take a few years to mature. But think Kevin Durant… very similar characteristics… he was 1 & Done

Agree. What's $87k in this dynamic? It's basically like here's a free pizza for coming. LOL. Elite players get $1m+.

No pressure when they play for Cal.

He’s not won it all but once in their lifetime. So if they win the NC, great. If they don’t? So what? Nobody else did either.

They get to pimp themselves, and make a ton of money, with zero pressure.
