Murray State...

Marquette struggled mightily last month of the season. Murray sensed it and moved in for the kill.

Morant is a terrific point guard, he makes all the other players significantly better. What an incredibly efficient game.

Morant is a sure fired lottery pick. Probably will go top 3 in the NBA draft. Great motor, makes great passes, rebounds well for a PG, and did I mention he has a great motor?

Special player for sure.

There is no hype with this kid, total stud. Now Langford is another story, total myth/hype job.

His dad told him to go where he was really “wanted” and not to go where he wanted to go. That is excellent advice in the recruiting world. If you’re good the NBA will find you. Hell, so will the NFL. Remember, Phil Simms went to freakin Morehead State! You ever been there? There’s plenty if high schools with nicer stadiums than they have.

I agree but man that is really hard for a kid to figure out. The best piece of advice is go where you fit the system you will be playing in. Understand your game to know where you fit. He fits the Murray system like a glove. Put him in South Carolia or Clemson systems he may have never developed.

Langford made the wrong decision because he doesn't fit Millers system. He would have been perfect in the Kansas or Louisville system. When kids don't fit the style all their weaknesses get exposed. I would argue it would have been better for Langford to go to a smaller school that allowed him to play to his abilities than go go a big school where he didn't fit. He is a NBA player that wasn't changing, but his position in the draft changed.

Sage advice, not only in BB but for the rest of life.

I cannot agree with you about Langford. Super, super, overrated IMO. He has great length for his position but not a super motor, no perimeter game, no left hand, he’s got a lot of work to put in. I wouldn’t take him in the first round if I’m a NBA GM, no way!

Would you be motivated playing for Archie...

I agree. Langford was a miss. I think he would be a better fit under a different coach/system but I do not like his overall game. Sometimes you hit and sometimes you miss. The exact reason why I go into next season with some caution with regards to our recruiting class. We should know this by now.
