Man, yall got jobbed big time

We took the 8 because of Carolina…should have been a six where Ole Miss was but they wouldn’t have had a potential second round matchup with half the ACC participants and they couldn’t have Ole Miss in our slot for the same reason of a second round SEc matchup.

…but we were the LAST 8 since we are
In Auburns Side which is the gross injustice. To be three seeds lower than Clemson has zero merit.

Curious how a top 20 team that went to their conference tournament final ends up with an 8 seed?

Logic is ignored all the time when it comes to this tournament.

I guess had Louisville beat Duke and were the ACC champs, they would have been a 6 seed? At 28 and 6?

Had the Cards beat Duke by 30, would they have received a 5 seed?

There was nothing the Cards could have done after losing that UK game that would garnered them a 3 seed or better. They could have won out and would still be only a 4 seed.

2 or 3 things happened. That's why it's always best to play your best in the 2nd. half of the last game. Folks always remembers that. It's a good look. Another is how we played that last 3 minutes of the Clemson game. We were ahead by 15 points and almost gave it up at the end. Again, the memory of that. No doubt, an 8th. seed is still quite unbelievable to me. I just don't think that there are 25 - 28 teams that in the tournament that are better than the Cardinals. Of course, the injury to Smith was the straw that broke the camel's back as well. We had a 5 point lead at the half against Duke and he scores 10 and we have less turnovers, well you never know. Lastly, I pretty much agree with Real. Beat Duke and they say well, they didn't have Flagg. I know this, we win our 1st. two games, folks are going to remember that for sure. imo

Don't think the game yesterday had any effect on the Cards seeding. The committee already had their opinion about Louisville and had the Cards beat Duke, it would have had a minimum effect because Flagg was out.

UK receiving a 3 seed is a travesty as well. The committee didn't consider their injured players or their asses losing by 30, they still rewarded them. UK should have been 5 seed at best.

There was no way Louisville was going to have a high seed this tournament. The committee's decision reflected the voters of the polls all season who waited forever to rank the Cards.

It is what it is, and this current team is just another victim of the sordid scandal that derailed the once mighty program.

I can't think of any other reason. This Louisville team was treated like the Cards were in the MAC or Sun Belt conference and that's the excuse they want to have as their explanation.

If we were the last 8 seed, I guess if we had lost the first game of the conference tournament we would've been one of the 1st 4 out.. it's insanity..

Well I'll tell ya...despite the hype and hoopla Auburn has lost 3 of its last 4.

Now, they are very deep and talented....but they are also borderline psychotic.
I think you can get them. I hope so. If they're clicking it'll be a mountain to climb, but if they get into their own heads your kids can get em.

Wonder what would happen if the players said “we’re opting out for the draft. You shafted us so why should we play for your tv game?”

Football does it all the time and it’s “ok” because it’s in their “best interest”.

BB players get hurt. Ask Flagg and our guys.

Pretty sure it would rattle the cage if they didn’t have any games to televise

Wouldn’t bother me either

I hate to buy a ticket to go watch and put money in their pocket.. 🖕the NCAA..

Total embarrassment by the NCAA. UL was playing like a top 10 team the last month of the season. Auburn is a tough draw but UL matches up with them pretty well.

It was a negotiation Bubba we will put Carolina in but we need this in return. Honestly, how else can you explain a process that is heavily reliant on metics then ignore all the metrics?

It doesn’t matter you have to win 6 games all are tough. They overvalued the SEC which ended up screwing several teams seeding wise and being left out. WVU should be in the tournament. To be honest Louisville maybe why.

What is louisvilles signature win this year?
It is true Louisville has a lack of big signature wins but that criteria should only prevent them from having a 3 seed or better. There's other factors that should have gotten them at least a 5 seed.

Five of the seven losses came before December 14th and they all came against ranked and now tournament teams. Oklahoma, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Duke. Louisville lost two key players including one starter to season ending injury before they played four of those teams.

But they turned it around and won 22 out of their last 24 games, defeating Clemson twice and UNC by 14 points. They not just beat teams they destroyed most of them, winning five times by 20 points on the road.

They did this with basically playing just seven guys as injuries continued to happen. Cards had to play in the ACC tournament without their top 3 point shooter in Reyne Smith, and they still beat Clemson and led Duke at halftime before running out of gas.

There's supposed to be more than just one metric the NCAA committee looks at when picking seeds. Louisville looked the part of a 4 or 5 seed in all but one and that was signature wins which they only have two.

So the committee punished Louisville with an 8 seed because of it. Now if they had made them a 6 seed it would still be too low of a seed, but the Cards would be facing a 11 seed and not a 1 seed in the 2nd round. I think most people would have accepted that without too much of a complaint.

But an 8 seed was a total diss by the committee and I believe was done on purpose. The committee leader is a UNC alum and the Tar Heels made the tournament with a 1 and 12 record in quad 1 games. If Louisville and UNC switched resumes, UNC wouldn't be a 8 seed but a 4 seed and Louisville wouldn't have been picked for the field of 68.

This is why we're so pissed. It's obvious and clear disrespect.
