Louisville women's soccer started their 2022 season with an exhibition game against Cincinnati on Floyd Street in Lynn Stadium Friday night and got a 2-0 win.
Grad student Maisie Whitsett got the Cards on the board halfway in the 24th minute of the first half and Louisville took that 1-0 lead to halftime. Freshman Karsyn Cherry added an insurance goal in the 52nd minute of the second half.
The Cards defense was outstanding in the scrimmage, allowing just one UC shot in the 90 minutes of action. Louisville split the time at goalkeeper, with Errin Floyd tending net in the first half and Alyssa Zalac covering in the second half.

Louisville takes on UIC to start the regular season Thursday at Lynn with a 7:30 start.
