It would be popular to join this chorus of criticism about this Satterfield Louisville football team, as I was as surprised and disappointed as any UL fan with last week’s performance.
In truth …… this UL roster has a lot of talent on the offensive side of the football that was concealed by our HC who was calling all of the plays. Malik was no where close to what he has demonstrated previously, and I will not even attempt to explain what was going on in his mind, but his decision to stay inside the pocket, as opposed to moving outside the pocket contributed significantly to his inability to see the field and give his receivers time to separate from coverage. The first interception was not a bad throw, but the second one and the two fumbles were directly related to his sitting inside the pocket where Syracuse was focusing all of their pressure.
No prediction from me, but if I was a UCF fan, I would not want to be the opponent that has to play a UL team that will be as motivated to execute as any team in America. These kids, Satterfield and his staff brought shame to themselves individually and collectively …….. I suspect they see this as the most critical opportunity to salvage their season and their potential careers.
