Louisville didnt lose because of FTs

In their previous loss they were 18-22 , while WF was 26-36.
Difference? 3 point FGs. WF hit 10, UofL hit 5.

Poor defense, foul trouble, to many 3s is why they lost to Duke.
Blew leads of 12, 9, and 8.
Cant blame poor 'D' all on VJ and JJ. They didnt play much.

Still cant figure out why a 2-3 zone . They see it in practice everyday.
Donovan was MIA. The team goes as far as he does, despite Adel's heroics.

This team IS NOT better than the 11-12 team. Nor last years team or the 14-15 team.
Unfortunately, theyre reminding me of the 10-11 team or the 11-12 team. However, they should win a NCAAT game or 2 or 3.

Thry can get to the elite 8. Its up to them to step it up.

Our execution against Syracuse's zone was a thing of beauty.My guess is they lack the guy that can get them settled down when they have to re-focus on a simple defensive adjustment.

Again to me,it's why our guards have to become elite leaders for the next 3 weeks or so.

Cards choked. Some BS foul calls, too. K out coached Pitino in second half. And, this isn't a petty critique, but you can tell Kennard is self conscious about his hair loss. He's a hell of a player. On to the NCAAT. Cards could easily fall round one or go to FF. Earlier this season, I thought they had all the tools. A steady, experienced PG, a super star, bigs, depth, coaching, but, now, it is obvious they don't have all the pieces collectively from a mental standpoint to reach the apex. Maybe something clicks the next couple of weeks.

This coming week of practice is going to be crucial to any type of post season run. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but the silver lining is the week of practice the team now has by losing so early in the conference tourney.

It could be worse. We could be Syracuse sitting on pins and needles worried about making the NCAA tourney. We're in and we know it. We could be a 2, 3 or 4 seed. I would prefer to be a 2 or 3, but the stone cold truth is you have to beat who's in front of you regardless of the seed.

Agreed, people are over-reacting. If the Cards go 6-21 from 3 instead of 4-21 from 3, then everyone is happy saying we're Final Four bound today.

Was thinking same thing. The practice time might be more valuable than the games played. But on the flip side, this team has almost no tournament experience which scares the hell out of me.

Keep my fingers crossed on this team. Plenty of holes that can sink this year's ship. Hate to say it - but, next year may be the year. Got a nice class coming in, and if our returning guys would iron out their weaknesses it could be a special season.

Agree. It was mostly the mental lapses (especially on defense) at key points in the game that cost them against Duke and poor lack of offensive execution. The on ball defense and defensive rotation has not been great all year. It has been good at times, but this team does not communicate well on defense. Appear to be great kids, but look very quiet overall as a group aside from Mango (I know it Mangok but like to call him Mango).

Coach K going to zone was a nice adjustment, but the Cards never countered to the adjustment. We've seen this team execute against the zone with excellent ball movement this season. They never really settled down on offense to execute against the zone the right way. They just jacked up a lot of 3's and played right into Duke's strategy. Now some of the 3's were great looks, but all night the Cards were executing from inside. I think they could have still gotten the ball inside on Duke's somewhat weak zone with some patience and better ball movement. We've seen them do it.

Making free throws would have obviously helped, but it was not the primary reason they lost the game.

All is not lost. We still have the big one next week. The Cards are probably looking at a 3 seed at best though due to the other teams competing for a 2 seed that are still playing in their conference tournaments.

Shooting 67% from the charity line is a lot better than shooting 52% from the charity line...It's not the number of misses...Its the number of opportunities taken...Louisville lost from the charity line, because at least four of the misses were the front end of 1+1...That's 4-8 LOST points at least!!!
