Watching this game today I again don't know how there's not an uproar on how bad the officiating is in this major collegiate sports. Those three refs are horrendous. On several charge calls the refs wait for the other to make a call. They are not sure so they end up calling it on the road team. They have called three illegal screens against the Cards that were totally not fouls. Henderson set a screen and was standing still but the Virginia player crashed into her and went down like a sack of rocks. The ref blew the whistle, waited and looked over at another ref who then gave the offensive foul call.

This is why I just can't get into watching the women's game. The refs are so awful it takes away most of the enjoyment even when the Cards win. Something needs to be done if they want more fans to watch the ladies. It's not going to be as exciting as the men's game because there's not the same kind of athletes but one would think that would make officiating the game a lot less difficult. The plain fact is, the women's game use inferior referees and something should be done to remedy it.

I am watching the game as well. The officiating is bad. I can't believe the refs get paid for their poor performance.

The Cards simply had little chance in this game with those refs. Now they didn't play well, didn't shoot well, but Virginia got virtually every call in the game. It was going to take a much more talented group of players to overcome the refs. Uconn and Notre Dame for example would have simply had too much talent.

I think the lady Cards will be that kind of team next season. I know they lose a lot of seniors but the talent coming in with the young talent they have now, teams like Virginia better celebrate wins like this today because it's not going to happen again anytime soon.

We played hard but didn't play well enough to win that game. Didn't defense their outside shooting well enough, and Moore was off a bit.

I didn't think the officiating was a factor--bad calls both ways. I guess I'm getting used to the "quality" of it in the women's game...

80-86 nailed it when he talked about next year. What I especially like about Walz is that he is taking direct aim at competitng with and becoming better than UConn. Apparently, the recruits are buying it, too.
