If Enoch plays the way he did today...

Our bigs have been our weakness this year if they continue to produce like they did today we could be a lot better than what everybody thought.

That's the $64K question... When these guys play as a unit, they're pretty good. How many times--esp. lately--has that NOT been the case? Take the game before as an example.

A game like today's illustrates what this team's potential is as well as how badly they can sometimes play, and be coached. The verdict is still out.

A big part of Enoch's problem is that he has one thing on his mind--NBA...

I’ve been thinking the same thing. If Enoch can keep this level of production up, this team will be a problem.

Couple Enoch’s play with Sutton’s added production... Takes a lot of pressure off Nwora offensively. Teams better really hope Perry doesn’t come around.

The lob alley oop from Cunningham to Enoch was just nasty.

Enoch’s post play and ability to hit the outside shot could be a problem for future opponents.

Enoch and Williams appear to be pushing each other bringing out the best in both of them.

Enoch was great today. Active on both ends, scoring and rebounding. Also it's good to have a center with some beef on him when the need happens like today.

Would like to see him, and others, pass the ball back out more and then get it back in. Though today he did fine.

The word of the day-inconsistent. Williams great game against Miami disappeared against Pitt. Enoch he has been really good in back to back games. A really good post presence makes a world of difference.

The NBA is that carrot dangling for all these guys. Neither Nwora or Enoch can play defense at that level year. They figure that out with their offensive skill both are NBA players.

I don’t see the issue with Williams and Enoch being selfish and not team players. Those guys are just developing. Neither had been coached the way they needed to be. That’s the difference this year and now their getting there with confidence. Outside of maybe Nwora I don’t see any selfish players. And I’m not sure Nwora’s that way either.

I’m not sure that’s true. Luke Hancock, who is still close to the team reminded me that Enoch barely played at UCONN. While he may be a redshirt sophomore, he’s basically a freshman when it comes to playing time. Couple that with the added weight and muscle, he’s just beginning to realize how dominant he could be. Obviously we see the 6-11 frame, 240 lbs and feel like he should be the next Shaq.

I don't think that Nwora is selfish as in he is actively trying to get his over others but he is a bit of a gunner and he is the best offensive player on the team. At times he does need to be the one to just go get a basket.

Won’t disagree as you are correct in my opinion.

I'll adjust slightly what I said a month or two back about these guys and their immediate futures...

IMO it's a 99% certainty that Nwora and Enoch are gone next year. And of course, they will say otherwise when asked. Between King and Williams, it's 99% that one is gone or about 50-50 on each guy.

In preseason, I had those %s reversed for King and Nwora. They're changed based on their seasons thus far.

NONE of those four guys wanna return, and they will either say "done" or labor with that decision at year's end. I'm not too confident about Sutton, but in the words of our former football coach, he seems to be cut differently.

And when I say "gone", I sure as hell don't mean the NBA although 3 of the 4 will try. VJ may go the transfer route, but I think he's likely to take a pro contract wherever he can get one...

All (majority of) programs face potential roster turnover involving players whose eligibility is not up, annually.

This has been going on nationally for years - and it's been going on here too.

Why do you think that all of our good players are leaving next year? Team keep key guys every year.

Some of the good players, notably Cunningham, leave because they have to.

Others, it's simply their age. Enoch is four years removed from high school, and King is three. Nwora and Williams will be two years removed. They're not OAD freshmen, and their objective is (or was) to play pro ball.

These guys leave when they don't think playing another year improves their pro potential. It doesn't have to be true, they simply have to believe that. Most of these guys will convince themselves it's true.

I don't follow the NBA, but I think it was Bilas who said this weekend that the upcoming draft will be weak. That further encourages them to move on...

Wasnt as much about disappearing as it was foul trouble for Williams. Hard to be a big and not play aggressive.

Enoch has looked impressive the last two games, b/c he is going up for every rebound with meanness and he is sealing his man and catching the ball 3-4 feet closer to the basket. Previous to the last few games, he was catching it 8+ feet out and shooting going backwards or sideways. At 6'10, 260 or whatever he is, he's too damn big and strong to get pushed back.

I will say that if he and Malik are both back next year, coupled with Igeihon.....good lord!! Malik probably plays some stretch 4, but they can all 3 be as aggressive as they want!

Are we supposed to recruit players without NBA aspirations now? I would not be surprised if one of the guys left. Nwora is most likely since he actually is getting NBA buzz but all of them is unlikely. Pitino had higher attrition rates than most and even then we rarely lost half the team early.
