Gotta love Jaylen Johnson...

Gets ejected from game when it's "ACC Sportsmanship Week"

LMFAO!
He got smacked in the face, then started barking. The ref told both of them to cut it out and they both continued to bark at each other. I don't know who that ref was, but I like that he took control of the situation and didn't let it spiral out of control. Both deserved to be ejected when they ignored the warning to chill out.

Not sure if it was the same ref but in the first half, one of the refs stopped played and warned Levitch to keep his hands off a player. Levitch nodded his head as if he understood and the second the ball was inbounded, Levitch touched the opposing player and was whistled for his 2nd foul. Crazy, he barely touched him but I guess the ref wanted to show David who was boss. There was also a few late whistles and seemed like the refs weren't on the same page at times. Would be interesting to know if they had worked together before.

Also was he ejected for a flagrant 2 only or for fighting which could include a one game suspension?
Naa, it wasn't like that. Johnson and Clemson's Thomas wouldn't stop arguing after what looked like an inadvertent slap from Thomas to Johnson's mug . No pushes or punches were exchanged, but the two kept jawing despite being separated by the official, so after he warned both of them to stop, they didn't. They kept jawing. Both were ejected.

I was at the game but I didn't really see everything that happened but I heard someone say that JJ made some kind of weird gesture that really was the reason for the ejection. Anyone have it taped?

He said that he was signaling 2 with both hands, meaning they were up 22 points.

We have never won a championship without one.
By all means - list the player you feel was the "enforcer" on each of the championship teams.

Btw - the point was, simply woofing or staring at someone (which is all JJ has ever done) doesn't make you an enforcer.

To name a few. I am missing names, but you should get the drift.

I believe jalen is tough and he is a double double guy and you have made your point that you are not a fan of his. I am.

We have the bigs and the team to have a special run.

Johnson is a needed player to make that run.

a strong, aggressive, or intimidating player whose role is to protect teammates...
That doesn't describe Darrell Griffith, Pervis Ellison, Billy Thompson or Gourgi at all. Harrell was a freshman avg about 15 minutes a game on that team - he wasn't on the court enough to be an enforcer.

Charles Oakley, Ron Artest, Rick Mahorn, Karl Malone, Draymont Green - those guys were enforcers.

By the way - I like JJ - I would like it more if he would live more up to how good Pitino says he is but, I've got no problems with him. I only (factually) corrected you when you kept posting that he's a DD guy.

It really doesnt matter what i type, you will try to dispute it or find a way to hate it.

We need JJ the way he is and it would serve a few players well to gain some of his toughness.

I believe we have the players to make a special run and look forward to this FSU game to really understand who we are as a team.

Is he the enforcer we need?Ehh,maybe not.Can he be?Ehh,maybe so.

All these bigs have to be tough as nails and defend the paint, that much I know.

What I remember so well about all those 80's teams is that nobody got anything free in the paint.Nothing.

We have not ever won without one.

And tomorrow will tell me who we are as a team.

Big game and we have an advantage in the paint. Hope we exploit it.

Mango can be pretty tough also. If you remember he and the uahkay big almost squared off at the end of the 1st half back in December.

You want to see an enforcer go watch a tape of the Cards playing LSU in the 1980 Midwest Regional. Wiley Brown had to be removed from the LSU huddle during a timeout by Jerry Jones. Wiley was warning Macklin and Scales after a hard foul, that wasn't called, that if it happened again he was taking them out.

Johnson plays strong. Mangok plays strong too. Spalding and Mahmoud could learn a thing or two by taking notes from those two. Play strong with no fear. That needs to be the theme for the team.

We have never won without an enforcer. We have a solid one in johnson, Mangok is tough when emotions hit him.
I like our bigs, we need to dunk the ball for intimidation factor but we definitly need to rebound like our hair is on fire.

Wyler Brown. Came off the bench once to defend Jerry Eaves. If my memory is correct he clocked the guy. Can't remember who we were playing. He was ultimate enforce. The ref in the Clemson game was a police officer and I'm pretty sure they said a Chicago Police officer, which is why he doesn't allow crap like that.

You beat me to the punch. Wyle Brown was a guy you didn't want to screw with for sure.

Rodney McCray may have been the toughest player not named Unseld who ever played for us.
We've had so many great AND tough players play for the Cards, but it's hard to argue with the two you listed as the two toughest. I think Felton Spencer was on that toughness level too IMO. Maybe a shade below it.

I would say that Mark McSwain was the enforced for the 86 team. Was a very tough player that took nothing from anyone.

McSwain was definitely a physical player but he played very little during the 86 championship season. Ellison as the shot blocker was the enforcer although he was slight of build.

Felton was definitely a physical presence but he was a gentle giant unless you got him really mad.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought enforcer was tough guy on the squad. If that's the case, then it was McSwain, Crook or even Kimbro.
