Full Court Press

Rick and Denny utilized the full court press extensively when they have talent deficit teams. It's the great equalizer in BB and keep you in the game. If you don't press, you don't play. Clear the bench and get fresh legs in every 5 min. KP looks lost most of the time from what I can see.

In theory, I think a press sounds like a great idea. I even think they used it fairly effectively in garbage minutes of one of the Maui games.

My concern is that it may exacerbate the deficiencies we already see on the defense end and lead to even more easy buckets by the offense. The difference with Crum and Pitino’s teams that pressed, is that they were committed to playing sound defense. They communicated well and played with a high-level of energy and focus on that end of the floor. Those teams understood what and who they were.

I think a press or some type of run and jump, half-court trapping defense would be great. I’m just not sure with this group. At this point, I would be trying everything though.

We don’t have depth and some of the guys are out of shape. Not sure how they’d press.

you have to play hard and rotate aggressively based on how ball moves. He doesn't know how to get kids to do either

Agree with everything said.

Will add they can't score so it's hard to set up a press.

Off topic but only way I see this team running anything good would be to pound the ball inside to Curry and work inside out. I know, I know, dude is a no show all year. But that's the only way I'd envision this team doing better.

As lazy and half-hearted as we play, probably best off packing a zone and hoping the other team misses. Of course you still have to put out effort to rebound.
