For Coach Brohm it came down to the commitment he made to the players he recruited.

I know choosing between his hometown program/alma mater and his current rebuilding project must have been excruciating for Coach Brohm.

Take comfort in knowing that the deciding factor was the commitment his players (Rondale Moore specifically) made to him. It took a lot of hard selling to get players of Moore's caliber to a Big Ten doormat and having those young men count on you to lead them for four years had to be the deciding factor.

We all like to think our school and our alumni have special traits that elevate them above other schools. At Purdue we talk a lot about being a Boilermaker and what that means as far as character and loyalty. I'm sure it's the same at Louisville, and Coach Brohm displayed those special traits in spades by choosing to honor his commitment to the young men who followed him to Purdue.

You guys should be proud of Jeff Brohm today.

No loyalty was shown today. He spent more time at U of L than Purdue. Not saying he isn’t a good guy, but I’d be surprised if we don’t hear he’s making north of 5 million soon.

What about the kids he recruited at WKU. He's nothing more than a hired
mercenary. No longer welcomed in The Ville.

If so, then good for him. I'm not angry at all; kudos to jeff for succeeding.

So that means he'll never leave Purdue since he'll hav to be loyal to every class.

Louisville will be needing ANOTHER coach within 2-4 years. That time Brohm wont be approached.

Coach Brohm will always belong to the Cardinals family, but he let the entire fan base down today.

The fan base is fractured and when needed most, he turned his back on the fans and the city he grew up in. As far as I'm concerned, he can stay in WL. Hope he signs a long healthy extension.

Yes he will if he's still winning, and he will come to you.

I posted late last night on our board that he wasn't coming because the timing wasn't right for him.

Fair enough op.I can believe that to be true,since I grew up with Jeff's twin uncles,Ronnie and Donnie.Great guys,competitors and hearts of Champs.
I am saddened by JB's decision,but I get it.

Be proud? He used his alma mater for a pay raise when he was needed the most. Awful people do things like that.

I’ll relay a story I heard on the Purdue site about John wooden.

Appparently due to a snow storm, phone lines were down as Purdue attempted to offer him the head coaching job. When they could reach him, he said no. He’d already given his word to UCLA

Not in the real world. I understand why some of our fans are upset, dont understand why some are pissed(not saying you are)

Apples and oranges. We are never saying a coach can't leave but Brohm was a string of good coaches, WKU was in a good position (unfortunately they regressed). When he took the job he stated how hard it was to leave WKU but felt like he left the program in good hands. He also knew he was coming to Purdue for a rebuild and that meant a committment for a few years to get it going.

In a few years when he does leave, we will be in a much better spot moving forward...if he left this year, we would have gained almost nothing.

Brohm is a man of his word.

He knew UofL would come calling. Tyra, the fans, everyone just got played. By one of our own, no less. Vicious business move on his part.
