Some tidbits about the upcoming fall football schedule:

-- 7 homes games (finally).

-- Bye week is dead square in the middle of the schedule, October 17.

-- First half we play 3 home, and 3 away games.

NC State at home
At Clemson
Murray State at home
Western Kentucky at home
At Syracuse
At Boston College

We should probably be favored in 5 of these 6 games, so coming out 5 and 1 should be the expectation.

-- Second half we play 4 home, and 2 away games.

Florida State at home
Virginia Tech at home
At Virginia
Wake Forest at home
At Notre Dame
U-uh-Kay at home

Tougher stretch the second half. But noone is as daunting as Clemson. Noone comes close to that. If we go 5 and 1 the first half, and just split the second half, we get to 8 wins But if we hold serve at home, we get to 9 wins. Or if we can get UVA (which historically is more of a toss up than our fan base would like to admit), and get 3 wins at home ... we get to 9 wins.

-- Florida State needs to be vanquished this year. We've let them off the hook the past two years.
-- I have no idea what to expect from Virginia Tech.
Both FSU and Va Tech will tell us a lot about what to expect the second half of the season. We win those, and expectations will be sky high. Very possibly sitting at 7 and 1 with 4 games to go.

-- Our two toughest opponents are on the road -- at Clemson week 2, and at Notre Dame week 11.

-- We play 3 of my most hated opponents at home - NC State, Wake Forest, U-uh-Kay
