I’m not sure I can remember a season where there are this many injuries in college football resulting in the game being stopped. I believe there were at least 6 today. One was serious with the Pitt QB being carted off and I believe a Pitt RB was sidelined. The rest the players eventually walked off. Each injury results in the player lying on the field and 4 to 5 staff members responding. The game is paused for several minutes.

When I watch the NFL you might see 1 or 2 of these incidents. I don’t understand why there is such a difference. Are the players more durable? Does the league encourage injured players to try to get off the field if they are able then seek assistance?

While I am empathic to players being hurt and needing care, I’m not sure all of these injuries should be treated the same. The continual stopping of the game for 3 to 4 minutes is painful when you’re sitting in the stadium. These pauses negatively impact the flow of the game. There’s already enough stoppages with tv coverage.
