It's just remarkable how he can recite such dominant stats and numbers against a weak ACC conference, but doesn't give Louisville the same props against the same ACC teams.
It's not like Louisville's been squeaking by with their wins. The Cards have five 20 point + wins on the road. Why exactly is Louisville fake and Duke not?
Clemson beat Duke and Louisville beat Clemson. Other than Clemson, Louisville gave Duke It's toughest game in the ACC and that was the first conference game.
No, the only reason for Duke fans to think this way is because of how bad Louisville was the past two seasons. They simply cannot accept such a huge turn around can be legitimate. It has to be fake.
I bet Coach Schyer himself admits Kelsey should be the ACC COY. No one on the planet foresaw Louisville winning 25 games. If it wasn't due to coaching then what is it?

In fairness, we also have all new players.
If CPK had last year’s players and won 25 games he’d be Coach of the Century.
But everybody has new players so CPK is at least as deserving as anyone.
I remember mid-season there was an article in the Durham newspaper saying that Duke might not be the biggest story in the ACC this year. It said that Louisville was probably going to be the biggest story. This is going to make the Louisville vs Duke game really interesting if they meet in the ACC Tournament,
With UofL winning only 12 games the last 2 seasons combined. And then come out this year and go 25-6 & Pat Kelsey being named the ACC coach of the year, is the biggest no brainer ever. How could it have been anyone else
Thank you. And add to that, the Cards won as many games this season as they did the previous 3 years combined. One more win (tomorrow maybe?) and they exceed the win total for the previous 3 years combined.
Context has to be considered. Winning at Duke in 2025 isn't the same thing as winning at Louisville in 2025. If we're just going to give COY to whoever wins the most, don't even give the award until the national championship is won and give it to that coach.
