Not gonna overreact. In fact this loss will be a good learning experience. But some things are hard to ignore tonight:

- Point guard play is rough. Do we need to get David Johnson more play cause Fresh and Darius are limited?

- Nwora letting his lack of scoring affect the rest of his game

- Lack of intensity and focus on defense

- Every player was careless with the basketball

- Beard was the better coach tonight. To quote one basketball writer “it looks like TT knows UofL’s plays better than UofL does”

- Technical on Mack was silly on Mack’s part. Fake juice at the end of the game

The guard play is what I expected it to be, we just don’t have truly anyone capable of running the 1 at this point.

Darius and DJ are ones that project that best to do it, but Darius is already a Junior and still hasn’t broken through. DJ is a freshman and you really don’t want one running point, but maybe he can just add something offensively.

Everyone has games like this where they just don’t do anything right. This is the first time they were out worked, executed and really out coached. It happens not big deal as long as it doesn’t become a trend.

With that said this is not a championship team because of the back court. The only way this team gets to that level is the backcourt. Let’s just say the current PG situation is a problem and it is a significant one.

Happened at the right moment, I think. Better to come flat in this one and figure it out before the schedule gets going. And it wasn't a league game.

I’ll be interested to see how Darius Perry responds. Last year when he had a bad game it seemed that he would then compound it the next game by trying to do too much. Eventually it landed him on the bench and out of favor with Coach Mack. He needs to watch the tape and learn.

Disappointed in a lot of things. Complete team effort from the coaches to the players. I didn't see one bright spot tonight.

Really disappointing.

His reaction tonight was all I needed to see. He pouted and blamed others for his errors.

The PG is the leader if things go sideways he has to be the one that gets someone else a bucket or gets a bucket. He can’t pout and turn it over. What makes it worse is he is a Junior and still completely breaks down mentally when things go sideways.

Not really sure what that was tonight. To me it seemed there was a complete lack of focus and energy which I'm not sure why as you would think considering the stage they would be up for this game. Not sure if we thought we could just show up and win or not but talk about giving a game away -geesh ! . The lazy play , ill-advised shots and crucial turnovers was concerning. But it is just 1 game and not the end of the world but we need to tighten up a bit on both sides of the ball going forward otherwise I see a few " Behind the Woodshed" moments on the horizon if we are not careful.

Last game 8 players hit a 3 in the first half, tonight nobody could hit. Problem 1 is we aren't controlling the things we can control. Everyone has bad shooting days but lack of effort is inexcusable. Effort is the main thing that can always be there if the desire is. Problem 2. Too many 3 point shots. We have a very good front court that is underused. With our roster we should never shoot 30 threes. Problem 3 and our worst one is movement without the ball. The easiest offense to guard is one that stands around. I absolutely hate when we do this. Its unacceptable. As deep as we are we should run other teams to death. I mean constant movement on offense. If someone gets tired sub him out and keep moving. By the last 10 minutes of the game the other team won't be able to breathe.

We should peak until around february. Peaking to soon isn't good for a team. We have a lot of work to do yet and that's all right. I love this team but I was thinking about Cunningham.Holy carp. He would average 10 dimes a game with this team. Oh well. We'll be just fine.

Man I came up with this name so I could go to their site. They kicked me off recently so I went undercover just to get those retards worked up. I enjoy it. Seriously though I hate every single thing about that school. Hell I hate lexington period. I've said for decades Louisville should secede from this backwards ass state.

Go to their site for what.
You can read their free sight by logging off.

I can give you a summation ;

August- theyre going 40-0
Nov/dec -lose, crapiperi SuCkS, theyre too young, at least he is 10-2 against UofL.
Jan-March- destroy garbage conference teams. Get high seed.
They have lost 4 out of the last 6 to Tennessee though.

March-lose to a lower seed. Wait for Greatest day in u of k history, the NBA draft.

For me knuckles, while I admit this is not measurable, my biggest concern is toughness. But then again, that is something that can be fixed, or can it? Lots of head dropping. Very little fire.

Are they just front runners? Meaning, when shots go in everything comes together, but when the going gets tough, then what?

There is time to fix that, or maybe adjust minutes to find the guys that are going to match the other team's intensity.

No doubt Beard is a beast coach, and he handed it to Mack last night. This is an early December game, will be interesting to see if a trend develops or if Mack can fix the issue.

Unfortunately I saw a return of that last night. After making a bad pass he got frustrated as he should but he started barking at some of the other players as if it was their fault.

I thought coach Mack got his rear end handed to him by coach Beard. Coach Beard has his guys sky high ready to play, and coach Mack did not have his team prepared to meet that intensity. Most of what I saw was a team that had been reading about themselves and thought all they had to do was show up to win. When it became clear that wasn't going to be the case, the coaching tweeks didn't work because of the pure lack of execution. How many poor interior passes did we see last night? TT continued to collapse around Enoch and Williams as soon as the pass was made if not before. You MUST throw the ball to the wide open corner when they collapse like that but for whatever reason our guards continued to try to force the ball to the post. I knew 5 minutes into the game that the outcome was not going to be a good one.

In a weird way, we needed to lose this game though. The kids were starting to act like they have arrived. They haven't. Lots of basketball left to be played and lots of room for improvement.

Mack has a long way to go, Beard certainly outcoached him. That's the first time I've really watched Louisville this year and they looked careless with the ball. They looked terrible, to be honest.

I can't see them beating Kentucky with that type of effort.

LoL

No other way around it. Beard thoroughly out coached Mack tonight.

It's concerning. I wasn't a fan of the hire, and I'm less of a fan if it now. Never felt like Mack was a good defensive coach, and although it seems like he really overachieved at Xavier, he got bounced early with a 1 seed and lost a lot of other tourney games as well. Hopefully he is humble enough to learn from nights like last night, and grows into a coach that can win a title here. I just don't see it at the moment though.

That's funny. I also created my SN because I planned to bombard Wildcat Lair after we busted their ass in football (I was confident). Unfortunately that didn't happen and I'm stuck with this stupid shit.
