We all have access to internet but if you are going to post, get it right. He is listed as being DC for ND in 2015-16. Of course he was fired 4 games into 2016. He was a DA for Georgia, the remainder of that season and was a DA for Okla St in 2017. I guess a relevant question is why wasn’t he offered a “coaching” position by either Georgia or Oklahoma St.?

BVG, which I think is becoming the trendy way to reference him, getting fired from ND is not an issue for me. Coaches get fired all the time. Hell, Bill Belichick got fired from the Browns. Coaches coming and going is the business they signed up for. From what I can see, he's got experience. I think he also has what the defense needs, a pressure the qb philosophy. We're going to need that as the defense faces a transition season.

Agreed X. I believe our defense is going to be much more talented than last year but much younger. We do have some good experience at a few positions. I like our DB's being much taller, poor Tru, kid busted his butt but lack of height hurt him at times. Burns, PJ and AJ are all at 6" or taller. Plus, our DL got some much needed beef. Just hate that we have to open with Bama but hey, who knows, with them replacing their OC.....

Have his contract details been released yet? Hopefully we didn’t overpay like we did with Sirmon. I’d say a reasonable contract would be a 2 year deal at $700k/year.

He has some notriety-does anyone have statistics how his defenses stacked up nationally? The easiest stat in the world was total defense Grantham vs Sirmon.

I watched the press conference this afternoon. I really liked all he had to say. Especially the part which he said it was the right fit for him. I also liked the fact he has worked with Coach Petrino and Coach Summers before. Time (and tackles) will tell.
