I'm scared to ask what a "assit" coach does? Don't we already have a couple?

At this point of the basketball season, no employed coach was going to leave a permanent (stable) position to accept an interim asst. coach position for 6-7 months. So, an experienced, unemployed coach was going to be our best option. Bonus that he does have head coaching experience.

He was very much an up and coming coach with success at Nevada and Stanford. Had a couple of good years at LSU but went down dramatically at TCU. He did have a knack for coming up with big upsets.

Good hire. Guy had some success with programs not really known for B-ball. The logistics and experience of being a HC that he has is invaluable for a situation like yours. I assume he plans on adding some more or no?
