I realize lots of posters on here don't subscribe to the C-J anymore but since I still get it on Sundays, I had to laugh at today's sports section.
We all know that the #1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats face off yesterday in an early afternoon game against a tradition rich and Top 5 good UCLA team in a raucous Rupp Arena. By accounts of the national media it was an epic up and down game that UK Lost 97-92. Yet somehow the coverage of this epic clash ended up in small print on the last page of the sports section. A game that ended before 4 pm.
The Front page spread was instead dedicated to Belfry winning the 3-A high school football title. Belfry. 3-A. Because there are so many readers in Louisville that follow Belfry football. I realize that Belfry defeated Central but I have to believe had UK beat UCLA yesterday there would have been screaming headlines on the greatness of this U-Cal Wildcat team.
A top 10 matchup in the College Basketball crazy state of Kentucky and it's relegated to the back page? Joke of a newspaper.
