I realize lots of posters on here don't subscribe to the C-J anymore but since I still get it on Sundays, I had to laugh at today's sports section.

We all know that the #1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats face off yesterday in an early afternoon game against a tradition rich and Top 5 good UCLA team in a raucous Rupp Arena. By accounts of the national media it was an epic up and down game that UK Lost 97-92. Yet somehow the coverage of this epic clash ended up in small print on the last page of the sports section. A game that ended before 4 pm.

The Front page spread was instead dedicated to Belfry winning the 3-A high school football title. Belfry. 3-A. Because there are so many readers in Louisville that follow Belfry football. I realize that Belfry defeated Central but I have to believe had UK beat UCLA yesterday there would have been screaming headlines on the greatness of this U-Cal Wildcat team.

A top 10 matchup in the College Basketball crazy state of Kentucky and it's relegated to the back page? Joke of a newspaper.

So good they did your cats a favor ever heard of the saying "out of sight out mind" hid the loss so as if it didn't happen. Sometimes less is best. However if Louisville had lossed what do you think the headline wouldve been ? And we barley get any period in our own city.

Not really sure how to take this. It could be played as the CJ protecting UK and trying to hide a report on a game they lost or it could be played as that they finally realized that this is freaking Louisville and not Lexington and have relegated UK to the place they belong....the back page. If so, kudos to the CJ for finally realizing that. Either way, their bias toward UK did me in years ago. Canceled my UKourier Journal nearly 10 years ago. But maybe I'll change my tune if they continue this way.
