College World Series

Some of Dan's decisions are just head scratchers. Going with a dude with 9 plus ERA, hasn't pitched in a month and has not been good all year is just another one. Sean just said [paraphrasing] that we were running out of options is weak sauce especially for a guy who usually is brutally honest.

I don't know what the NIL "picture" looks like but it's painfully obvious we need a major upgrade in the pitching staff. Some talent sure but not nearly enough to compete in the MCWS.

Plus, apparently TJ is not hurt and can pitch (since he just came in the game). Why not start him? Again, makes zero sense.

A little late to the party here today, got stuck in a meeting at work.. CAN NOT believe we didn't go with Forbes, just a terrible decision . I'd love to hear CDM's rationale..

Got a lot of work to do to get back in this, it's straight uphill from here. Better start next inning..

The difference in Coastal's individual pitcher ERA's that we have faced today and our pitchers ERA's that we have thrown out there today is staggering. We start a guy with a 9 plus ERA and Coastal's third arm has a sub 3 ERA.

The coaching staff decided today was staff day. At some point it was going to be staff day. Staff day hasn’t been good very often. They were hoping to get this one and then everything would be reset just didn’t work.

Once you lose a game in this format you will be screwed at some point unless you are incredibly deep. Not many teams have enough arms to come out after losing,

Great year, see what happens in the portal.

Grass mowed. Glad I didn’t miss anything.

Staff day? In the CWS? If you don’t go all in to win there, why play the season?

This start was more than a head scratcher. It smells.

Odds are we wouldn’t beat CC anyway but it shouldn’t be
None of us have a clue how many days Forbes needs. I think Coach Mac knows his players better than us.

I think the coaching managed the pitching about as well as they could. It just caught up with them. They tried to give guys opportunities all year, outside the core group none of the guys could give them any confidence.

Despite the events of the day,I feel an ounce or two of the joy that Mac feels right now. I'm thankful for the excitement the last few weeks have brought me.

Now, let's keep the core of guys that could make an even deeper run next season.

Thank you fellas!
Same. After that loss to Pitt in the acc tournament, ending where we did today wasn't even a consideration. And it was a fun ride.

Final four ain’t bad 🤪

But the way we went out leaves a bad taste. Yeah, Mac SHOULD know better than us.

But a lot of folks who follow BB closely didn’t see THIS particular start coming.

Moot point now. Go CC. Beat the sec

Go Cards next year

In the post-game show Ethan stated a NC2A rule mandated a 5-day [?] rest period under circumstances that applied to Patrick. I think it was the amount of pitches Patrick had thrown the last time out.
Nobody asked Dan about his starting pitching decision in the post-game presser nor did Sean. Sean said he wasn't going to go there with that question and just let Dan talk about the season in general.
Surprised nobody from the national media asked Dan, I am guessing they [national press] just assumed that was one of our few options.

Thing is, I don't even remember the last time Hartman pitched. If not Forbes there were better options.. just a head scratcher..

All in all, the post season was awesome. I predicted one win in the regional and done based on the way we finished the regular season and ACC tournament.. Thanks for the ride Cards you exceeded expectations..

GO CARDS !!

Well, I will qualify that statement by saying there are a lot of posters on here that feel if you don't go to Omaha every year you're a failure and you need to be fired...
Im not saying there aren't some like that (I can't call one out right now) but for the most part people that I see on here just want solid baseball. We have gotten used to a certain brand of baseball and we don't want less.. The past few years, actually since around covid, the standard had definitely dropped . And this year a lot of our losses were self-inflicted and we looked in disarray, there were reasons to complain about players and coaches.. Kudos to all the coaches and players for turning things around just in time..

I personally believe we advanced about as far as possible given CCU being 2-0, particularly after witnessing their performance early in this tournament, recognizing they were the best team playing on our side of the bracket. I thought Arkansas pitching would overcome LSU, but I was wrong.

Would I have started Hartman? Honestly I don’t believe anyone could have predicted that performance, including Hartman or Dan and his staff.

Blaming Dan or the kids for that loss after exceeding most everyone’s expectations this tournament is hard for me to understand.

Would it have made any difference if we won yesterday, but lost today? I am proud of this team and our staff for making it as far as we got!

I think there are many here that could've predicted it. Does it make it wrong? Idk
We're over it man. I'm happy for the run. Genuinely happy. It was a fun ride for myself, my family(who know how much this Program means to me personally) and countless multitudes of Louisvillians that had forgotten how to cheer for UofL baseball.

We're back!!
