College World Series

Lucas Moore is just not right. He looks indecisive at the plate. I think he's pressing a bit because he hasn't had a good post season and hasn't done much.

He wants to so bad in the World Series but he's struck out in his last two at bats and he rarely strikes out.

We played tight. Not surprising to me at all.
We were tight early against ETSU but pulled it out. OSU has that rich winning tradition at the CWS and it helps their guys overcome those jitters. They expect to win when they go to Omaha. I think we'll bounce back Sunday.

Our pitching was as good as we could have ask for, and aside from the “one bad hop”, our defensive game was flawless. Before the game, several posters noted quite prophetically as to what we needed to do offensively; unfortunately Pike failed to break out of his slump, and both Moore and Klein only contributed one hit each out of their 5 ABs. OSU’s 3 errors kept us in the game.

Pike’s swing is too long too often. He has a hard time catching up to fastballs. That ends up speeding himself up which makes the off speed stuff deadly.

He is the best option I would move him down.

All in all it was a great baseball game. We just came up a little short. Pitching for bot teams was pretty good
If ww could have musteted a coiple more hits with runners on ww move on. So be it. Im proud of my team as expected much less after the acc tourny. We are still playing and we will support these guys to tbe bitter end.

As much as we've deservedly kinda let Williams and the pitching staff have it throughout the season, I've been concerned about our offense at particular times once ACC play started. In particular against top level, elite pitching like we faced last night.
It was there for everyone to see, swinging away at anything and everything, not adjusting to that big breaking ball, falling behind in the count.
Until we recognize those pitches that are designed to get you to chase out of the zone,we'll only be a great offense against average pitchers.

Better by a whisker - definitely not clearly out of our class. Last night’s game was won because of OSU having the last at bat.

We’ve got a chance to meet them again, if we can get past Arizona tomorrow.

It's the same thing everytime Louisville plays in the world series. Close but not good enough. Sometimes it's bad breaks like seeing eye singles and bloops the other team takes advantage of. Then it will be a 50/50 umpire call or replay that goes against the Cards, and then there's very bad timing on mistakes Louisville makes that ultimately cause defeat.

The error by Alicea cost the Cards a run and King swinging and missing on three fastballs with the bases loaded and less than two outs cost the Cards at least one run.

Those two players cost Louisville the game. Now who knows for sure if Oregon State wins in their last at bat anyway, but the Cards should have been up at least 4 to 2 with three outs to get.

Louisville seemingly has to play perfect to win the world series, whether they're a top seed or a lower seed.

Not so sure about that. We went toe to toe with them and they damn sure don't out class us..
The eye test is real. Oregon State has some future MLB players. Don’t take offense to “out classed.” It’s a term to describe they have better ball players than we do.
