Is everyone else kinda surprised he hasn't enter the portal? I believe most fans think his lack of PT in his redshirt freshman season would have him moving on?

But maybe there's a reason he hasn't and that is Brohm is going to start him for the bowl game? If Tyler Shough opts out, why wouldn't Brohm start Clarkson? It's a perfect audition. Brohm may currently be preparing for Clarkson to start.

I wonder.

What I do know is if Shough opts out and Brohm doesn'tstart Clarkson, he probably couldn't get to the portal fast enough.

I think we’re all itching to see what Clarkson can do but I’d be surprised if Tyler opts out of the bowl game, even though I couldn’t blame him. He’s got a legit chance to be on an active NFL roster next year.

It seemed like he really enjoyed his time here this season and I for one appreciate what he did.

I agree. Injurie(s) aside, I believe the positives outweigh the negatives for Tyler playing the Sun Bowl.

Well, he hasn't played him much all year, even in the games where we had a substantial lead.. (which wasn't many)

Now that Shough is gone, I’m FULLY expecting the QB, regardless of who, IF he has a big bowl game…hits the transfer portal at games end.

I wouldn’t wait to see what Brohms plans are if he didn’t play me all year.

As for me, no speculation on what Clarkson decides to do ….. I believe that he and his father know what is in his best interest, and they alone will decide.

Prediction: IF he starts the bowl, and does decent to good, he will consider that an audition and hit the portal first chance

Clarkson can put himself into JBs thought process about whether or not he could beat out Moss if can show his coach something in this game. Really looking forward to it.

He's been groomed to make the step. If he stays,maybe it'll be because he thinks he could play. Always wondered if part of NIL agreements promised guys that they would start every game. 🤔

imho, he's just not jb's type of qb no matter how good he is, he was satt's, more like a malik cunningham type, mobil & fast that would compliment a run game. jb wants a pocket guy to compliment run game. when you're smaller, like a drew brees, the offensive line has to block differently so the qb can see thru the line to make passes whereas a 6'4" qb can see over the line. which old NOLA tapes of brees and how when he threw the line opened a gap for him. watch Peyton manning and he stood over the line and threw the ball almost downward sometimes. so the O-line has to do things differently for Clarkson. so probably why he's not played, we're designed for a pocket passer blocking scheme, not wishbone, bootleg, and out of the pocket passing like clarkson needs. simply, he worked better for satts offense not brohm's
