This is a terrible situation for everyone involved, including the UofL basketball team.Originally posted by UofLHouse:

I don't understand why it matters to the UofL basketball team now? Jones was kicked off the team last Sunday morning. The only was this goes further south for the team is if there were other players who are still on the roster involved. I hope that's not the case.Originally posted by Knucklehank1:

Or a coach or coaches who knew about comparable previous behavior and covered it up (Jones's problems didn't just spontaneously appear overnight). There's a small but still scary chance that the impending police investigation could get very, very ugly very, very quickly, especially since they're gonna throw the book at Jones over this and so he'll be looking to talk at every opportunity to try to reduce what's undoubtedly gonna be a lengthy sentence. :/Originally posted by Cue Card

First of all legally we would assume (and hope) it wouldn't have implications to anyone associated with the university. But to think this won't be stain on the program or a distraction would be foolish. It will be the first thing asked about in press conferences, there will be articles written about Pitino recruiting "at-risk" guys, there will be articles talking about this and the university giving a scholarship to Devontre Fields.Originally posted by Cue Card:

I have a real problem with that line of thinking Hank unless Pitino knew Jones was a high risk and took him in spite of it. I don't know why this is anyone's fault not named Chris Jones? When are we going to hold individuals accountable for their own actions? I honestly don't know anything about Chris Jones other than he was the junior college player of the year and Pitino offered him a scholarship to play at UofL. Was Jones a troublemaker beforehand? Serious question. I hadn't heard anything like that about Jones. All I heard was he was a tough young man who played with a bulldog mentality.Originally posted by Knucklehank1:

You apparently missed this part:Originally posted by Skywarp:
According to the warrants, Jones raped and sodomized a woman on Sunday
and was able to identify Jones "because she recognized him as a
University of Louisville basketball player" and he told her his name.
That woman was examined at the university, one warrant says.
A second warrant says Jones, along with two other people, forced a woman
to have intercourse and oral sex. She also identified Jones as a U of L
player, according to the warrant. She was taken to University Hospital,
where she was treated.
Would hat be this Jalen D. Tilford? U of L student?Originally posted by Steelers2012:
You apparently missed this part:
U of L police Det. John Tarter took out the criminal complaints against Jones, according to the warrants. Tarter also filed complaints on Wednesday against Jalen D. Tilford and Tyvon Walker, both of whom allegedly raped a woman on Sunday. The complaints filed against those two men indicate three people were involved in the alleged rape but don't specifically mention Jones.
He missed that part because he was still holding out hope the other 2 were also members of the team or maybe he was hoping it was 2 of the coaches with maybe Pitino himself being involved. Who freaking knows why Mr 33 post person was painting such a bleak looking picture. It's the internet baby!!!!Originally posted by Steelers2012:

Per twitter, these two WILL be co-defendants in Chris Jones's case.

You think this bleak picture has to be "painted?" I'm sick to death over this. Maybe if you ever follow a basketball program heart and soul like I have with the Cards for 31 years you'll know what that feels like (want me to post ticket stubs? I've kept them all in an envelope dating back to around 1991). Probably not though. You and a bunch of other folks on this board seem way more concerned with "LPT" and "dur, look how authoritative i am, i have a high post count!!!" than the reputation of U of L basketball.Originally posted by Cue Card He missed that part because he was still holding out hope the other 2 were also members of the team or maybe he was hoping it was 2 of the coaches with maybe Pitino himself being involved. It never takes the weaker of the weak to rear their weak ass heads above the pond scum when something like this unfolds. I'm sure some of them are having a grand old time regarding this issue while ignoring their own dirty laundry and most importantly, the victims of this crime.Originally posted by Morgantown Card:
You sure hope, don't you? People like you make me sick; using something like this for fodder to point & laugh at your rivals. Yes I know Card fans do it to. That makes me sick as well. Two women were assaulted and these 3 guys allegedly did it. Two lives were victimized and it looks like 3 dudes are the alleged perpetrators. That's all that really matters here.Originally posted by Skywarp:

This story (the warrants & everything behind them) is less than a few hours old. The fact that you created a new username just to come over here and hope & pray that there's more to this shows me that you could not care less about these victimes and wouldn't piss on these victims if they were on fire.

I sincerely hope that this board isn't representative of the rest of our fanbase nowadays. I'm stuck in Pulaski Co. with virtually no RL Lousiville fans to discuss things with so I really don't know. At any rate this place isn't for me. I'd rather have no discussion than the crap that this board not only allows but seems to encourage (I wonder how much this board's traffic suffers because of people like me who get driven away at the drop of a hat?).
Take care y'all.
Just exactly what do you want people over here to do about all this?Originally posted by Skywarp:

That's top notch advice Kerry but you know not many are going to actually follow it. I wish people would let the system work before passing judgement on what he allegedly has done, but that doesn't fit the agenda of those chanting the gloom and doom stain angle.Originally posted by KerryRhodes:
First of all, they are allegations.
They have to be proven.
To anyway hint of Coach Pitino condoning this , or bringing in a 'known' rapist is f#@$+×g foolish and pathetic.
To the SuCkS fans who think this is a 'stain' on the program. You need to remember Lloyd Tubman.
Hell Chuck Hayes had a whisper campaign going on, against him about rape.
Everyone let the justice system play out. He might be innocent.
Yes. It might be wise to not rush to judgment in this case. Hopefully the truth will come out, whatever that may be.Originally posted by KerryRhodes:
