Brohm buyout

Charlie never had a Top 25 class either, just saying.
Which “may” say that CS hired a better STAFF? (Teachers instead of family)

Our best talent is in the Freshman and Sophomore classes,
And why is this? He’s been here four full years. It’s like he waited two years to decide he “really” wanted to be here.

I truly hope to see it click and start playing like the old Bobby teams. Win or lose, have some fire and discipline.

Holy $&^, this thread is insane. Buyouts, Jeff Brohm, recruiting sucks, etc., etc. We need to pump the brakes and accept things for what they are. Bama has done that to top 10 powerhouses the last several years and we are still sitting on what could be a successful season when you factor in numerous new faces on D and a new QB. R-E-L-A-X!!

Now....I will say I was disappointed in the penalties!

I will also say we need to be careful having that next year is our year outlook. We have Notre Dame, @Miami, Clemson, @FSU and what will be a few coin-flips similar to what we have this year.

This whole thread about “a Bobby buyout” is ridiculous. Why would we want to buy his contract out? Oh, I get it. So we can go offer a guy that’s been a head coach for all of maybe four seasons. Puleasseeee!

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

To all the Petrino defenders, justify:

1) 12 men on the field penalties.
2) Improper blocking penalties
3) Special teams sucking for the fourth year in a row.
4) The lack of a running game beside Jackson since Bobby 2.0 has been back?
5) Our confusion on the sidelines
6) Lack of self control on all sides of the ball and abundance of stupid penalties?

This all comes from improper coaching and leadership.
It all comes from a staff composed primarily of your own family members

And Brohm doesn’t have a staff with family members on it? Bobby shouldn’t have hired so many family members I will give you that, we needed to go out and look for someone to coach special teams.

1) Definitely disappointing. Petrino did address the reason for this during his press conference this week, and to me that shows a definite lack of attention to detail. I do wonder whether the loss of his Bob Petrino Sr. during the off-season was a big distraction that resulted in the product we saw in game 1 not being as polished as it usually is.

2) Not sure what you mean here....

3) All teams use primarily 2nd and 3rd stringers on special teams, and Alabama's 2nd and 3rd stringers are significantly better than ours.

4) There is no need to justify this. Jackson was a part of our team the past three years, and we were one of the very best running teams in the country as a result. Rather than being asked to justify poor coaching, Petrino should be praised for taking advantage of Jackson's unique talent.

5) This appears to be a repeat of #1 - or at least it is my explanation for why #1 occurred....

6) Pretty sure Nick Saban was taking his team to task for these very same issues. It's football. It's played at a very fast pace and with great emotion and effort by athletic young men. Lack of self control, making mistakes and stupid penalties is a nearly universal complaint of fans of every team. When you win, these things matter not nearly as much.

Bottom line here with regards to Petrino, version 2: we are 21-11 in conference games in one of the premiere football conferences in the country during his four years, a 65.6% winning percentage. That's a damned good mark: one that does not need to be defended or justified in any way shape or form.

Our line should be taught that they can block high and low when they double team block. We have been getting that penalty a lot.

I look forward to Brohm getting the job here someday only to see how long it will take for this board to turn on him.
