During postgame handshake BC coach had some words with PK. Not sure what he said but Pat looked a bit stunned when he heard it.

Yes, I saw that as well, and wondered what could have prompted the BC coach to react that way. CPK did the right thing, he just walked away without saying anything back. Perhaps someone can share what might have come out on the BC post game radio show; if they even have one. Sadly, there did not appear to be more than a few fans in attendance.

Unfortunately, it's February and there aren't a lot of games left on the schedule to cement your seed or improve it,outside of the ACC Tournament. It is what it is,but it wasn't like we were up 30 the whole game.
Big boy basketball.

BC coach is feeling the heat as his replacement at Charleston is now the coach at Louisville and is more successful in year one than he has been in several years at BC.

Kelsey only has walk ons as his "scrubs" on the bench. He isn't going to play them for 3 or 4 minutes, especially coming off a road loss after being up by 11 at halftime.

You can always tell who's a desperate coach when they complain about stuff like this.

my wife and i both saw his face and said what was that about and i immediately thought it was because we left our players in and honestly, i believe bc coach was probably right. if you go back and look at every big point win we've had during that 10 game run, CPK pulled the starters and when less than 90 seconds left, if anyone tried to run the offense, usually traore, antonelli would grab the ball and hold it until the shot clock ran out. even resulting in a turnover. it's a pattern that was created and used every time we had a huge lead, starters taken out and we didn't attempt any shots to run it up.

then last night, totally different story. our 2nd largest lead of the year and being up 26, instead of pulling the starters, CPK kept everyone in, minus chucky, and we we're still running full bore and jacking up 3's. that's rubbing it in your opponents face on their home floor and to me the worst display of CPK's behavior I've seen so far. which isn't saying much, but still, if bc's coach had watched game film, he would have seen CPK back off.

last night, he just kept them in, running the full fast break offense and jacking 3's for no reason. i thought it was poor sportsmanship on his part. pull the players, let the scrubs in. if they are jacking 3's it's one thing because they never get to play but the starters still jacking them up is sad and if say UK, Duke, Ole Miss, or any other team had dine that to use we'd be screaming holy hell. so, sorry, that's poor coaching and sportsmanship and shows CPK is not all happy go lucky as he seems. if i we're a bc player, i would have clothes lined someone on their 3 attempt and taken the flagrant.
Sorry, must disagree - in this case. Look, the Cards have squandered leads. They have had too many flat spots and lost focus. I believe this was a notice to his team that they must play hard all 40 minutes- period. Normally CPK does pull his guys out; so sorry for BC that did not happen this time. This team must find, and maintain the next ‘gear’ and then press down on the gas pedal. A killer instinct on the court wins games not a ‘oh sorry, let’s let up (with walk-ons or regular players) for the other team doesn’t feel bad’.

Can you believe this guy? Actually saying he would attack a Louisville player for trying to score in a blowout win. If that now does happen, it's on him.

Howard Schnellenberger used to say about teams running up the score; “ it’s our job to stop ‘em!” That’s BC’s job, too.

We had a blowout win and Coach wanted to make sure we left with a blowout win.
BC not going anywhere. The Cards needed to win impressively, not be impressive getting the lead then blowing the lead. Nobody doing any of the seeding watches anything but the final score.
Time to move on.

ESPN has the Post Game interview between BC Coach Grant and the BC Radio Hosts in its entirety. Interestingly, one of the last questions that Grant was asked, "what was it like to be able to see Pat again?"

Grant responded with: " yes I have known him for 20 years, as we came into the business together. Pat's doing a great job and so good to see him". He finished his response by adding "I am so happy for him". That sure doesn't sound like he was upset at Pat, but I too could see Pat's expression and suspect Grant questioned Pat about "leaving his players in too long".

Earlier in the exchange, Grant even noted that with 15 minutes to go in the 2nd half, his kids cut the UL lead down to 5 points. I am not sure how any reasonable coach or fan can be critical of Kelsey for leaving his kids in the game.

No one should be critical of Kelsey because it makes no sense to. It's not like there's some big rivalry with BC, or they're such a low level program, they should be handed with kid gloves.

The more I think about it, it may had nothing to do with Kelsey's decision to keep his main players in the game. It may have been something about what a particular player had said or done. I think we all just assume it was about running up the score.

There just isn't any reason for the BC coach to be upset about who the Cards finished the game with. He has much more to be concerned with than that.
